I'm trying to fix my iphone screen and i've fallen at the first hurdle:
http://youtu.be/q74uQdl7V6M?t=1m35s
the free philips screw started to strip the top so I went and bought a full set of mini screw drivers torx etc. but the battery one has now fully stripped.
i tried to put some tape over the top to give it some purchase, but no joy.
any thoughts?

Tandem specific question.
I have decided to remove the arai drag brake from the rear wheel on my tandem. In its wake I believe there must have once been a 2mm or so spacer, which I am not in possession of. My verniers reckon the ID of this spacer was 12mm. My question is, can I get away with using a regular M12 washer in there? (13mm ID). I think the answer to this question is yes but would like someone to confirm. Otherwise, where can one find a 12mm ID washer 2mm thick.

Nice. I didn't realise you removed your drum too.

I have no idea where the drum bits went, so it might take a while. And also you should totally not trust me. but I did both GCSE and A level physics only a little bit more than 10 years ago so I totally know your substitute washer will be fine.
Have you considered asking an engineer?

I have a window in one wall and a mirrored door in a wardrobe on the opposite wall.
Why can I see quite a lot if the tree through the window but in the mirror I see less and more close up?

I don't trust any of the engineers I know, especially myself.
I'm going to attack some M10 washers tonight with a 12mm drill bit. Just need to figure out how to restrain it.

The fact that it's gold makes me think it's to do with the audio jack but I've never owned an Apple product so dunno.

Anyone know if these will work alright with V brakes?
I understand about the cable pull differences but I gather it's also a little hit and miss as to which of these slightly older levers might work with V brakes.
Anyone tried out V brakes with acera EZ Fire levers/shifters? -
• #59721
Acera is an MTB group with V-brakes, so the levers will have been designed to suit.

Hmmm but these are on my girlfriends bike and are setup with cantis.
The groupset has remained unchanged since it came from the shop in the mid 90s. -

Have a look at the guide for changing the display on ifixit.com. There's a mention of this part somewhere + pics.

Ahh sorry they're Altus, from about 1996 I would guess. Looks very similar to Acera.

Although Acera also came with cantilevers during the age of the dinosaurs. Who knew?
