I have a PC full of viruses. I however have many files/data on it which I would very much like to keep.
What is the best way to get the files/data off without the viruses spreading onto whatever I connect to it? I have a apple laptop at my disposal.
I would be willing to purchase an external hardrive to get everything off.

download AVG free and "spybot search and destroy" here
My PC originally became full of viruses when I intalled free McAfee anti virus provided by my HSBC online banking. Worse thing I ever did! Im cautious now about more downloaded software. Plus im unsure whether it is in functional enough of a state to install stuff on it.
When I switch it on it goes MENTAL, millions of windows, messages etc. Adware, trojans, worms, keyloggers, everything. Its fucked. Just want to retrive my many GB's of Data and fucking wipe it.

buy/borrow an external hd copy over everything you want, wipe it and start again. Nothing nicer than a cleanly installed os

Fanny pack, what is your avatar?
To me it looks like a young boy in football kit, maybe Manchester United, riding a a grey shopper bike with a basket & invisible wheels, on the pavement in the meat packing district of a city.
I MUST be completely wrong.

When I put in a flash drive it ended up with viruses on it. Will the same thing not happen if I plug in an external hard drive?

yes.
Download those programs I told you. Disconnect from the internet, uninstall any previous anti viruses, run the new ones. -
• #5716
I doubt it unless you have some how infected word files etc

money I just don't have. Defo not putting a chris king or thomson on it though, they'll look wrong.
Don't listen to a troll!

Get a cyclocross bike.
Opinions of this?
Cannondale CAADX 6 Tiagra 2011
Or we have this in the second hand corner:

Cannondale CAADX 6 Tiagra 2011Spend the extra £100 to get the 105 equipped version. £100 is very soon forgotten, whereas being stuck with Tiagra for more than one ride can feel like a lifetime.

Good point. Do the 105 left hand shifters still break if you look at them?
-
• #5721
only if you / the bike shop set them up wrong

• #5722
No opinions on the Kuota?

• #5723
looks tasty. No experience of shram road shifters but their X0 mtb stuff is lovely (all be it on short test rides, which is the sum total of my X0 riding experience).

Sram X0 is magic. Even 7 is very nice. 1:1 rocks.
However, SRAM road just somehow doesn't cut it IMO. It's fine, but their premium pricing doesn't carry itself. Ride Red and Chorus, look at the price difference, and wonder...

Ok, hypothetical question: You have been notified of a tax rebate for £1,000 with your name on it.
Compare what upgrades you might put on this:
To what you might get in terms of a complete bike (winter trainer/cross bike/general purpose).
Go!
Stop trolling.
