Fixed that for you... Come on man...
money I just don't have. Defo not putting a chris king or thomson on it though, they'll look wrong.
-
• #5678
In silver? They'd look fuckin hot.
Fair enough if you don't want an inline post, but I can't believe you'd NOT put a King headset on it :-(

I like having matching parts.

I like having the best parts :-)

Seems like a suitable time to ask - in practice, why are King's headsets so superior?
-
• #5682
Just because
-
• #5683
Just because they're not, and I always talk shit. It sounds OK in my head tough
Oh, Max

When they first came out, they were the best made headset with the best bearings and the most effective seal. They had the high end market to themselves for a long time because it took other manufacturers a surprisingly long time to try to compete. The Cane Creek 110 is probably better and slightly cheaper, but doesn't come in the exciting range of colours of Chris King.
The Chris King is still good, but has a weakness in the centring of the upper bearing due to CK's refusal to pay to license the Dia Compe patented split compression ring. There are after market hacks to add the split compression ring to CK headsets. This only applies to threadless headsets.
For Sumo's bike, the Cane Creek 100 Classic is half the price of a Chris King and definitely more than half as good

Silver hubs, black rims, just like in the picture. They look perfect.
...Sumo, for the love of your God, this^^, what Max said. Funny or not, he's actually right.
To do justice to the frame, try to copy the wheels. I'd say some Open Pro CD to DA?...or summin like that. Just don't go Apeshit with deepV's, otherwise I search for you and kill you in teh face.
You've been warned. -

Tester, you should have written all of that in italics, like Max. Emphasis is everything.
Thanks though, often wondered.

You've been warned.what? No Zipp allowed? ;)
Like I said, I'm putting an all silver open sport on forumlas on it to begin with.
I want to put a nice tubular wheelset, but it not being drilled for brakes means I need to skid on it. -

Dude, just use a low profile clincher tyre, I am sure you can get something fairly strong in 21c.
The Open Sport x Formula will certainly look the part, but that is proper budget bruv. Make sure it is only temporary ;-) -

Sumo (just a thought):
• Open pro CD 28hls
• Dura Ace low flange (cheap considering quality)
• Veloflex 22c
• Nice used Sugino75
• Nitto stem/bars/seatpost
• Flite
• Le epicJust an idea, I'd go around those lines, maybe not Nitto but that's me.
