Using the XX.1 chainring on a 1×10? Either chain will work.

Is there a thread of places that do frame repairs?

Does anybody have an external soundbox I could use for an evening? Doing a party on the Strand - free entry, drinks and VIP goody bag on offer, as is rep/Swine love.

Ta. Is 're-tracking' a frame straightening it?
If so it seems cheaper to mend and even get it painted.
-
• #56708
Yeah, re-tracking is re-aligning the rear triangle I think.

• #56709
What is the cheapest work stand that is still decent?
-
• #56710
^ the lidl one is good.

• #56711
Second cheapest park one.
-
• #56712
Definitely seems worth mending.
I mean using a quick google-fu I can get the seat clamp and re-track done for 100 at Mercian.
I don't really want to pay courier so something within reasonable driving distance would be cost effective also.

Lidl one seems to be the same as this range of thingies.
Good to know

Lidl one is SHITE.
get the cheapest Park one.
I bought Lidl and now stuck with it as I don't use a stand frequently enough to justify buying a park one as well/instead.

Check the usual frame builders in London. Depending on their work load they might be more convenient (presuming you're in London). Ryan @ Oak straightened my Bob Jackson forks for a reasonable fee.

Second cheapest, the clamp is loads better for a couple of quid more.
-
• #56717
PCS-10 rather than the PCS-9.
-
• #56718
PRS-7-1 (bench mount) has worked very well for me.

What problems have you had with it? I've had mine a couple of years and not had any issues with it. I don't use it all the time, but when I do it does the job just fine.

The Lidl one is good for holding the bike up so you don't have to bend, that's about it. The clamp on mine just spins to whatever way the bike wants to hang. Saying that, for the money it costs, it's far better than just propping the bike upside down. Seriously tempted by the park one.

It refuses to hold the bike at an angle, the "support beam" for lack of appropriate technical term, the bit that goes between the clamp and the stand, just rotates around... I'm panning to try carbon paste next, but pretty un-impressed at the performance.
What stevo said.

Ha, great minds etc. I tried araldite and "keying" the surfaces that were slipping but it wasn't enough.

Decathatlon bike stand anyone?

look like it'll interfere with the gear cable

Near enough I'm in Shepperton under Thames currently.
Just dismantled the bike and to be honest it just looks sorry and I'd hate to lose it's history.
Still fancy a respray in nodder yellow like Aches Viv
SRAM X1 compatible with 10sp drivetrain? Would I then use a 10 or 11sp chain?
