  • Not measured the post. Its a Thomson,...is manufacture error a realistic possibility?

Unlikely with a Thomson, I'd expect their process control to maintain tight tolerances

  • That gap looks way bigger than 0.1mm, one of your measurements is wrong.

  • Urgh.
Able to tell by photo of the ST been reamed?

    EDIT
Double urgh. I have an oval seat tube, hopefully just the head, measures ~27.0 front to back

  • Fucking chain came off again, twice...what the fuck am I doing wrong?

Second time was going relatively slow and on smooth road?

You'd take the car to the scrap if it failed this much.

  • Tight link? Slack chain? Worn chain? Worn chainring or sprocket? Chainline off?

  • Chainline is fine
    Chain ring isnt
Its not slack but has a tight spot
    Chain isnt old
Sprocket could be...is shark finnng time to replace?

  • So new chain with old cog and chainring?

  • Nope they were new together

  • Too much pedaling.

  • I only peddle dreams

  • You're obviously leaning.

    Stop it

  • From my post a day or two ago.

The serratted bits are worn on my newish track nuts so wheel would slip.
I think I over tightented the wheel as on the other side of the f/f hub the chainline is out now and the wheel doesnt spin by hand.

    Shopping list:
    Wheelset
    Chain
Chain ring looks fine to me

  • credit cards: is it likely or unlikely that a bank that gave me my credit card, will give me a 2nd 'balance transfer' credit card for me to transfer my current balance over from, or will i likely have to go somewhere else

Unlikely, moneysavingexpert has one of those calculators for balance transfer cards so you can see which is best.

  • You can't usually transfer a balance within the same financial organisation, so if you are shopping around make sure you know which actual bank licence lies behind the branded card you're looking at.

  • The battery on my casio watch died a couple of months ago and I finally took it to a watch repair place this morning to have it replaced. They tried to charge me £13.95, which is a joke considering the watch didn't cost that to buy in the first place. Where can I go to get it done cheaper than this, or is it perhaps possible to do it myself?

  • ^I'd ask that in the watch thread too, Hats. I'm guessing you might need special tools to prize of the back of the watch, etc..

  • Good call, I forgot that there's a watch thread. Thanks!

  • ^^

If, by special tool, you mean "kitchen knife".

  • Although I do have a load of jewelry screwdrivers & tools that you may borrow, hats.

  • Exactly. Thats what I'd do. Depends on ones standards though, doesn't it!

  • ^^

Damn - Should have said that I have a special tool that you could use.

  • ^

That was a cock joke, by the way. Just in case anyone was wondering.

  • No, you're a special tool.

  • You can sometimes buy mini screw driver sets from a pound shop for a urrr, pound.

  • No sweet xmas cracker prizes?
