  • Been once, it seems nice but I'm no expert. Girlfriend, her sister and mother all liked it and they are Chinese which as we all know is nearly Japanese.

  • stick em on your ipod (make sure they're mp3 not Apples proprietry file type) then use something like ephpod to take them off your ipod. x

    Cheers n3lson

  • I've just passed my probation period. It's slow and boring this job.
We'll be moving into anothe department soon, due to restructuring of Academic departments. My job is safe, I think.
There's another job that's come up. In the Department we've become part of. It's stupid applying for that right now isn't it?

  • I'd say apply for it all the same mate.

  • mmm.
    I thought so.

  • Irons in the fire and such..

  • Yeah, the only problem is, it's not really a step up. More sideways.
Same job roles, but probably more to do.

f**k that unless it's more wonga

  • Why won't my boss shut the fuck up?

and also, where the hell is my chainreaction order? I am Vexed.

And as if by magic, my Boss leaves the office and my Chainreaction order arrives.

    Score.

    this..

  • I'd rather be busy.

  • I've been treading water for about a year now, since leaving the civil service where I was responsible for telling fishermen to piss off.
This job, the one I'm in, provides a salary and training opportunities (stats etc). The role that's advertised would be similar, but I think busier. I'm going out of my mind with boredom here, I'm unsupervised. However, I've just found what I think might be another much more exciting role, for more cash, supporting a Director of a very large School and would be part of the executive team.

I'm not sure what my long term goals are apart from:
more money, more interesting work, new challenges.

  • careful damo: more money, more problems.

  • Yeah, Biggie sez so.
Some problems would be good right now.

Well, if you say so- how about giving some thought to the thorny issue of whether a Genesis Day One of a Pompetamine Versa would be better for my winter training bike?

  • Neither - both would be heavy as fuck and cable operated discs are shit.

  • Neither - both would be heavy as fuck and cable operated discs are shit.

  • Why not buy one of the Boardman specials?

  • The genesis's arent that heavy, ive had goes on them. rather popular in birmingham they are. The tubing is similar to 531, so they weigh about the same as most peoples older steel racer singlespeed conversions.

Something like A boardman SC comp would feel a lot more like a modern race bike sure, with aluminium frame/carbon forks etc. But it depens what you are after from your "winter training bike" A day one or pompetamine have mudguard/rack eyelets so would also make good winter commuters/singlespeed or hub gear touring bikes.

Cable operated discs are not shit. The avid and hayes ones are plenty good. Give you much more modulation than a V brake, strong braking when your rims are covered in mud and they also stop your rims from wearing down.

There really isnt enough "purchase/grip" with a normal 700c tyre on roads or paths to require stronger braking than what cable discs offer. If it was a 29er setup or very knobbly cross tyres sunken into sticky mud, the hyrdo's could probably come in handy. Otherwise they are a bit superflous.

  • How much do you want to spend Dammit?

  • rather popular in birmingham they are.

    Don't oversell them will yow!

Avid BB7s are utter shit. Difficult to set up and forever going out of adjustment. Complete and utter waste of money.

  • sits back
    waits for corn to pop

  • I wouldn't get your hopes up.
