Ok,
My front tub braking surface is getting pretty low.
Is there anyway of restoring it with a resin as opposed to spunking £300+ on a new wheel?
Cheers.

• #54853
No. But you can get a new rim and get it rebuilt.
-
• #54854
Rebuild the wheel! Rather not.
Might get some of this and experiment.

What's the glass transition temperature of that resin? If you look at carbon repair shops, none of the reputable ones will touch brake tracks, and for good reason.

Schmokin', I be like BTTF.
The cork pads already get pretty hot when used heavily.

Have you tried homeopathy?
No no no - it totally worked for my grandmother's dog that time it had a cold.
Are you calling my grandmother a liar?
I have explained this many times, so you know you are making a BS point.
In south asia 'homeopathic' medicine is very popular and for certain things, highly effective. Why? Because they label herbal based medicine as Homeopathic.
These medicines seem to be from outside the ayurvedic tradition, imported from countries like Germany. This may explain how it became to be banded in with homeopathy which is also German. -

I know jeff-all about football, but I just bought my nephew a Man U jersey and want to get his name on the back. No idea which number to get, though. What number should I get on the back i.e. which player is popular?

It's United's star number. -

United's top scorer Luis Suarez has just signed a new deal, get him on the back of it.

Just noticed I've got a snapped spoke on my RS 80's, which I'm pretty sure wasn't broken when I last rode it. Gah.
Anyone know of any shops likely to have a spare? Around South london as a prefrence -

Considering to spend a few nights, including new years, in London. Flights or train shouldnt be too expensive. Any recommendations on cheap accommodation with some nice pubs, bars, restaurants etc around and possibly something bike related worthwile a visit without my friends knowing it was on purpose ;)
I wanna do the usual tourist stuff as well btw. Gonna be my first steps in the UK.

If you're after a scuff washer, then http://activesport.co.uk/shop/article_PHS477-003/Chris-King-Headset-Scuff-Washers.html list them at £2.99, but they don't often feature in the "Recommended Retailers" thread
It's only needed (if at all) because Chris King refused to license the Cane Creek compression ring for many years. You can probably upgrade your headset to the fixed design
Its this:
The only reasons I asked for scuff washer was because CK mentioned it in the Owners Manual. Mine came without the washer maybe it is the latest one ..

Ignoring for moment what's under your stem, there is a much neater solution for what's on top of it

I've lost the power and USB cable for my old WD external hard drive and finally realised I'm not going to find it.
I'm struggling to find a cheap power replacement and I'm not sure what types of USB connection this is.
Can anyone help?
Even better would be if someone has an old one with power cables they don't want which I could buy.
Cheers.

Done; on the list.
Should I not worry about scuff washer then? At 1.7nm stem cap bolt and 5nm stem bolt its not moving as freely as on my other bike which has CK NoThreadset too

Anyone know much about electric pianos? the good kind
my housemate has a technics px 6 electric piano, and i spilled a glass of water on it..
it was turned on when it happened but was turned straight off
mopped it up and left it off, my housemate tried to use it this morning and the speakers crackly (least of the worries for now) and doing single notes works but multiple keys ends in bizarre results
turned back off so will leave it to dry out while we're away over christmas, but whats the chance of it being permanent?
these things are freaking expensive...

Is the front brake caliper touching the lower cup? :-)
Can't really diagnose whether there's a problem over the internet, headsets are done by feel.

One possible solution would be to pull it apart and buy a cheap caddy for whatever kind of drive is inside the box. They are available complete with power supply for <£10 on t'bay
Parcel force handling charges, any way of getting out of them?
£6 tax I can live with, £14 fucking parcel force charge, it's extortionate...
