The shops look quite garish and the cakes don't look all that nice. One was near my old place in Finsbury Park/Archway and the other on Hoe Street in Walthamstow, neither have particularly big South Asian communities, more Turkish/Cypriot.
Still haven't cracked it yet...

How should I understand the lyric, '...but when we got back, labelled parts 1 to 3' from The Pogues song 'A Pair Of Brown Eyes'? It throws my entire comprehension of its first verse.
I don't think Shane is always completely tethered to reality, so I wouldn't expect all of his lyrics to make sense. Besides, songwriters sometimes just use words that rhythmically or aurally work.

Have you tried homeopathy?
-
• #54832
"Hold on a minute sir, whilst I prepare your homeopathic remedy" turns on tap! fills glass with water, hands to patient. "There you go!"
Most homeopathic remedies are diluted by 90% around 60 times. At this dilution, you would have to drink 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 gallons of homeopathic remedy to get one molecule of active ingredient, this is 10 billion times the volume of the earth in liquid remedy. In the volumes that you would be ingesting, you will not get any ingredient. No active ingredient, no physiological response, no remedy.
Ok so homeopathy isn't immoral like the anti-immunisation lot but it is unethical.
Just saying.

No no no - it totally worked for my grandmother's dog that time it had a cold.
Are you calling my grandmother a liar?

interestingly if the water remembers the toxin that is no longer in it, it's also going to remember being peed out by Julius Cesar as the odds are about the same that you are drinking water that went through his body. -

I only drink water that comes from freshly melted glacial ice...
thanks global warming!

Or, more likely, a dinosaur
We're all drinking dinosaur piss, and that includes you TM because the oldest ice on earth wasn't formed until about 50M years after the dinosaurs checked out.

Jesus said dinosaurs aren't real though, so your wrong....

Fuck. Does that mean we're all drinking homeopathic murder? No wonder so many people end up dead!

Where can I get chris king 1 1/8 scruff washer in the UK?
-
• #54842
scruff washer
If you're after a scuff washer, then http://activesport.co.uk/shop/article_PHS477-003/Chris-King-Headset-Scuff-Washers.html list them at £2.99, but they don't often feature in the "Recommended Retailers" thread
It's only needed (if at all) because Chris King refused to license the Cane Creek compression ring for many years. You can probably upgrade your headset to the fixed design

Which 1" crown race is the larger one JIS or ISO? Trying to fit a headset to an islabike and the race is too small. Would it be possible to just replace the race? Its a Ritchey cartridge headset if that makes any difference
-
• #54844
ISO = 26.4mm
JIS = 27.0mmIt's probably easier to get the steerer re-cut than to find a different size crown race.

Legend. Would love to see pics... Many thanks!
Dropped you a PM, hope it's helpful :)
Here's just a random pic I took yesterday. We now have special bike-belts in the trains in Holland!
-
• #54846
Hmm. It's JIS then. They're my sister's bikes and she doesn't want to go down the route of getting them cut. Would it be difficult to find a headset with the correct size crown race?
-
• #54847
It would appear that it isn't as easy as I expected to find a JIS headset. It would be so much easier if websites listed the full specifications rather than just the basics.
-
• #54848
M:Part 1" headsets tend to come with 27.0mm crown races, e.g. http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/m:part-pro-1-inch-threadless-headset-with-both-264-mm-and-270-mm-crown-races-black-prod17447/
-
• #54849
The full JIS spec also has 30.0mm cups, not the 30.2mm ISO, just to make things even more annoying, so if your frame has 30.2mm bores in the head tube you won't be able to use a JIS headset, but a full JIS spec 30.0/27.0 frame and fork can be recut to full ISO spec 30.2/26.4

Sigh. We wouldn't have to do this if the Islabike headset had some sort of seal. Got some new balls to keep them going until we can find a replacement.
At least Velosolo got back to me quickly. Wasn't expecting a response from them until monday
