Mavic 600RD/610RD :-)
Axle lengths look long compared with other manufacturers, e.g. 114-116mm (depending on source) for road doube. -

from what i've read the mavic bb's need the bb shell to be reemed at 45 degrees or something similar ... sounds like a pain
seems like a decent campy sealed bb unit is my best bet ... -

Which 10-speed compatible 144mm PCD chainring are you planning to use?
-
• #51530
i was hoping to keep the one on there
-

seems like a Shimano BB-UN55 is my best bet ...
ftfy
Try a 115mm first, and maybe a 110mm if it then looks like there's at least 3mm clearance everywhere.

will i experience problems or should i source a single speed chainring ?
-
• #51533

If those are the original rings, they probably won't work with 9/10-speed chain, because it is narrower between the plates than the 8-speed for which they were designed.

so i should ideally seek out a modern day 53T chainring
what would work ?zipp / da ? something along those lines

I'm moving to Putney on the 1st October. My new street doesn't have parking restrictions which means that wandsworth council can't/will not reserve a space for the removal lorry.
Would anybody be willing to park up a car or two on the day before to reserve us some space? You will ne renumerated for your help. We'd just need you to move your car when we get there with the lorry just after lunch on the 1st.

Have you tried to approach your new neighbours?
-
• #51537
I'm legally obliged to. Its part of my parole conditions.
-
• #51538
^^ We will try that avenue...just hedging my bets at the moment.

Will the lorry block the whole road if double parked? If not, I wouldn't worry about it and try and rope in some more hands for the off loading, which in my experience is usually twice as quick as the loading.

I have a miche BB with 1,37 x 24 bsc written on it.
Does that mean it's ISO or JIS? And what length is it? -
• #51549
You can't tell from that whether it's ISO or JIS or what length it is - 1.37 x 24 BSC means it's a BSC/BSA BB, with 1.37" inch diameter BB cups and a 24tpi thread.
-
• #51550
Yeah. My googlefu just found that.
I think it's JIS, based on this
http://www.lfgss.com/thread104759.html
and with my supplimentary question i would like to ask which bb i should purchase
i have a bb shell size of 68mm
using a mavic starfish double
rear is a DA 7900 10 speed block
i plan to run the starfish with just 1 chainring on the outside
what bb should i get for a nice 1 x 10 set up
