Yep, followed a certain stitch so that they could still stretch in that area. Not sure on the name, it's one my mum taught me. If it's thin around the hole pull more faric in so you're stitching strong fabric

How fit do you need to be to attempt this in 3 days? (and is it possible to do it fg/ss?)

Fit enough to ride 100+ miles on each of three consecutive days. It's a musculoskeletal challenge rather than a cardiopulmonary one if you're happy to ride all day.

No fitness required, it'll just hurt more.

any tips on rain pants (if that's the correct term)? Got an about 1400 mile ride coming up and it might rain.

I'm struggling to keep my headset tight - either in the first instance or over time.
it's an ahead system with an expandable plug for the carbon steer tube rather than a star nut and bolt -
there is a couple of mm between top of stem and top of steer tube so tightening the expander plug bolt should pull topcap down onto stem and keep the whole headset assembly tight - i have to properly torque it to get it tight in the first instance (more than i am comfortable doing bearing in mind carbon steer tube) and it is apt to come loose over time.any obvious issues am overlooking? thought etc..
edit: misunderstood how they work / ought to be setup - useful guide here for reference Compression Plug Installation (1280 x 720) - YouTube

O'Shane: I never said I wanted to stop riding. I was talking about something to stop the rain so I won't get sick and that makes me HTFU
Crafty: I don't understand?

Q: Can I use a shimano wheel (i.e. cassette etc) on an otherwise campy 10sp set up for turbo use only?
I.e. as long as I just set the chain up somewhere with appropriate gearing, and don't attempt to change it, use the indexing etc, is there anything to stop it going round and round, or increase wear?
Cheers

stfu.
seriously though, they're pulling your leg.
possibly due to the not-strictly-necessary distance mention.

Perhaps I should have used a beagle smiley there.
If it rains you get wet. It's like wearing waterproof socks, the major flaw is the hole that at the top that your foot goes into.
Best thing you could have is a good set of mudguards so that you only get wet from above, water off the road will be horrible and full of grime.

Is it a good or great idea to have steak tartare for dinner before a big ride tomorrow am?
-
• #48675
It is always a good idea to eat steak tartare
I'm leaving for Paris on weds, via Dieppe, taking two days once we're over the water. Avenue Verte for most of the route. Two tourers and two fixed. Main problem's going to be the heat if it stays like this...
