at the cinema - which arm rest is yours?
Cinemas are vile. Full of noisy teenagers.
As I can afford a big screen telly and a Blue-Ray player - instead of using my 13" laptop to stream downloaded movie stolen from the Russian cinema - I don't need to leave my house.

Thanks for tips it just doesn't seem able to replicate the colours of the laptop screen. Do tvs not have the same dynamic range of monitors?
laptops are usually 6 bit panels with a limited colour gamut that dither to get an approximation of 8bits of colour, it's because of this limited gamut that you calibrate to a native colourspace (not d65) so you get a bigger range of colours and more dynamic range at the expense of accuracy.
at the end of the day you shouldn't be using a laptop or tv for colour critical work.
you could borrow a puck from somebody and do your laptop screen and LCD*, you will not get them looking the same.
you need better monitors (like an eizo CG) and hardware calibration for that.- dunno if you can calibrate a 'tv' if that's what your lcd is and not a monitor.

Ah right, the only problem I've had though is that I open iphoto for example play with the settings till the pictures look fine. Then switch back to excel/internet and the windows look incredibly washed out. As in I can't see any of the grid in excel or my avatar on here looks really bright.

the answer is to spend money on a calibrator.
even if your monitor is not up to much you should be working at 120 candelas/Meter squared, you probably have the brightness turned right up. -

This might be more of a task than I first thought then!

My daughter is too heavy for child seat now, so she goes back in the trailer and I'd like to fit a rack for pannier bags.
Can someone point me towards a reliable detachable rack (rear and maybe front also or a basket) for frames which were not made to have one?
I'd like something which would withstand panniers.
I can google, but perhaps someone has a first hand experience.

Can I use a 25.8mm bar with a 26.0mm stem? Is the 25.8 size intended to let the bar be used with 25.4 and 26.0 stems? If not what is it for?

The stinging.

There is no stinging. All the bees do is cluster around the queen. It's completely safe if you know what you're doing.
