1) time for new cleats?
2) has the pedal's bar caused damage to the shoe? -
• #48353
Well considering you ride brakeless and if the cleat fails you're fucked, yes replace the damn thing!
Two it does look like the spring/bar has pressed into the sole, when clipped in can you feel any play?
Edit: riding with cleats too far gone could mean more play which would give the pedal a chance to push into your sole it seems.

Give Apex cycles your business, they are lovely people and deserve to stay alive despite Evans opening up opposite.
Genesis day one, rear drop outs and disc mount, I don't find removing the wheel a problem?

And what will happen in the morning when the world it gets so crowded that you can’t look out the
window in the morning? And what will happen in the evening in the forest with the weasel with the teeth that bite so sharp when you’re not looking in the evening?
And all the friends that you once knew are left behind they kept you safe and so secure amongst the books and all the records of your lifetime?

I was wondering why I would unclip when cornering or going over logs when on the Mtb.
Twats and worn cleats...

How resilient are bikes to travelling on planes in bike bags? From what I have seen soft cases offer very little>zero protection, but people seem to use them to check bikes in as hold luggage?
Does this only work when transporting it officially as a bike/special sports equipment? or can you just bung it in instead of your regular allowed 20kg suitcase?
Im going somewhere on Lufthansa, they will take bikes fully assembled and unpackaged but charge 50Euro each way and only on certain planes. Ended up getting tickets on a no bike plane. What options do I have?

I'm interested in that too, I'll be travelling to and from Ireland this summer and aer lingus will take my bike for €40 unpacked but I'd rather put bubble wrap around some bits at least.

My girlfriend is looking for a spare wheel rack for her car, a Honda CRV.
She wants something simple to use that she can leave on the car when it is just her using it, so the bike can be put on really quickly.
We have a thule euroclassic for when both of us are taking our bikes out, but it is too large and bulky for daily use.
We have looked at the Saris Graber and BAT racks along with the Hollywood F7.

Has anyone got a 144 PCD chainring, smaller than 44 teeth, that I could borrow on Monday to try out a different ratio on my SSCX bike?
Alternatively, does anyone know where I might be able to buy such a thing in London tomorrow?

Condor?
I think Bicycle Workshop stocks Thorne rings but they are closed tomorrow.

What's the smallest 144bcd ring out of interest?

I suspect it may well be 44t and cupcakes' was a trick question.

I was thinking of gebhardt rings: hubjub say they have them down to 41t and they also show a 40t in stock.... Might check out condor tomorrow, or persuade a mtb crank onto the bike instead.

Who wants to swwap my deda quill stem adaptor for one that will allow a 1 1/8 stem to clamp to it without shimming?

I got a 42t Gebhardt ring from Hubjub. It came the day after I ordered it, so while you wouldn't get it tomorrow, you still won't have to wait too long. I would offer to lend you mine but my Pompetamine is spending its summer in Cheshire.

Bike box
Cardboard box + bubble wrap
The suitcase method (see bonedeth.tumblr.com somehwere) -

Length+width+height cannot exceed a pitiful 158cm!!!
If they do then it is a 50Euro charge on top. Might as well have gotten the official bike service. But that plane was at 6am and I didn't fancy getting to the airport that early with a bike+luggage. Apparently the cab fare would be about 45euro to the airport!

42 to be safe, some 41s have been made but you may have to shave the spider to get the chain to clear it.
apex cycles?
or just buy a pair of flat pedals
