So is Mocne Debowe. Any beer with a word "mocne" means "crackhead slash alcoholic" only in Polish.

  • No need for ice though. Special Brew needs ice.

Every day is a school day.

  • Ok, literaly it means "strong".
    Debowe means "of oak".

    Oak's Strong (Beer)

  • Cheddar
    Stilton
    Jarlsberg
    Wensleydale

That's a decent and easily available mix of taste/texture sensations. Make sure they're at room temperature, all cheese straight from the fridge just tastes of cold.

  • I think it's:
    Integrate from t = now to t = infinity (prob(he dies at time t) x prob(she's still alive at time t) x dt)

But that leaves the problem of manipulating whatever data you can get into the form of the probability distribution functions above.

  • Yeah... tastes shit.

It's easily the best of the Euro-rubber cheeses. I just came up with a selection with a bit of variety you can get in any supermarket, not everybody has access to a good cheese shop.

  • anyone know what the protocol is for internet shops taking money from your account?

ordered some cranks thru velodrome shop last thursday, says 3 working days delivery, which is last tuesday, money came out my account on tuesday, emailed them wednesday asking where they were and could the courier jsut leave them in my porch, they said that's fine and that they'd be sent on thursday with a confirmation email. no confirmation email. no cranks. rather need the bike to work, but can't buy cranks from BC because i only have £70, rather than £180, i thought that online shops weren't supposed to take your money until they sent the item?

  • However, unless we have agreed a longer period for delivery with you, we will either deliver goods and/or services within thirty days of you placing the order or we will let you know as soon as it will not be possible to meet this obligation. If we do let you know then we will either agree a new time for delivery with you or, at your request, refund any monies paid by you in respect of the delayed goods/services if you do not receive your item within thirty days.

still, does not answer my question of:

should a company take money before it despatches an item?

nor does it answer why they said (in email) that it would be despatched on thursday when it hasn't been.

  • 3 days delivery does not include weekends. Dispatched thursday (1) Friday (2) Monday (3).

If it hasn't arrived by tuesday, call them.

They can take the money as soon as you click buy.

  • it was not despatched thursday, because they said they would send an email when it was despatched. read what i have written!

  • even if they don't actually take the money prior to dispatch, it would be fairly normal to request the funds are held from your available balance (to prevent them being used elsewhere).

The settlement (the actual transfer of cash) can take place days later, or be cancelled by the retailer in the interim. This cancellation wouldn't stop the funds being unavailable to you in the meantime though...

  • should a company take money before it despatches an item?

They can, and they probably will unless they are one of the many companies who explicitly state that they won't. They are still bound by the distance selling directive, so you can always cancel the order.

  • it was not despatched thursday, because they said they would send an email when it was despatched. read what i have written!

Just because they said they would send an email, doesn't mean they will.

Calm the fuck down and read the small print before you buy stuff on line.

  • What forks would you choose for XC for around £200? I suspect that there's a sweet spot around £300 for decent forks - anything cheaper worth looking at?
