Good taste.
Josh, the reason you shouldn't buy the women's leggings is because they won't do jack shit, and they are brown. Brown leggings.
I recommend Specialized legwarmers. I have some and they rock, I just wear them with normal shorts (Cut off Dickies) and that's it. You're thinking about this too much.

OK...
Probably better than the women's tights, but not as warm as Ronhill's or some of the others mentioned above. Just throwing out some suggestions.

Bayes is gonna getcha.
I was thinking P(man dies year 1) x P(woman doesn't die year 1) should give the probability that she gets to the end of year one and he doesn't, and then sum for all years to give the overall probability, assuming that actuarial tables already account for the obvious precondition that somebody can't die twice, in which case I think Bayes is moot, but I'm rubbish at statistics and barely competent at probability.

I think you might need some Poisson in there (likelihood of getting kicked in the head by a horse, and/or other unlikely events).
You're asking what the likelihood is that Man will die before Woman. You'll have to take into account previous life history, risk factors of disease, likelihood of listening to The Doors and thinking they were serious. Work out a risk model, and then bang your numbers in.

Is this hypothetical, or are you actually trying to work out if you should date somebody 10 years your junior?

Isn't the simple answer:
"half your age +7" -

Actuarial question:
If a gentleman of 45 shacks up with a lady of 35, what is the overall probability that he will predecease her? Please show your working.English life tables number 16 I think are the upto date ones use life tables from parry's think they are no15 life tables to give you figures for live expectancy to work out probability as a percentage.

It's hypothetical, just one of those questions which popped into my head; assuming that it is generally preferable for men to predecease their wives, since women seem to cope better with the death of a partner, what age difference would be needed to give a probability of, say, 0.99 that this would happen? Ignore any special conditions, just take the average mortality rates for the local population for the time being.

A more contrived selection of track-names it is impossible to imagine
