  • I know this is probably a stupid question and has probably been answered before but do you have to have a phone line to be able to get internet?

  • Virgin deliver Internet connectivity via a cable- so you don't need a phone line.

All other Internet Service Providers rely on a conventional telephone line being in place in order to run the Broadband service over it.

  • There's always internet over mobile, can be a good option if you don't need huge bandwidth and you bundle data with your other mobile needs

    There is also WiMax http://www.urbanwimax.co.uk/wireless_service

  • My crank puller isnt fitting into the non driveside crank arm. It screws in but the bit that pushes the crank off is hitting against part of the crank. Theres a black ring thats loose on the end of the pushing bit, but it doesnt come off, but I reckon I could get it to fit through if I got it off. Anyone have this problem before? puller is planet x jobsworth, and cranks are old eighthinch.

  • Also the driveside was easy to get off and I had no problems with it

  • Looks like somebody has previously wrecked your crank by using an Octalink/ISIS puller on it.

Which component are you going to bin after you've got it apart? If the BB is going, screw a short length of M8 studding into the axle and push against that.

Nope, that was me for a few minutes before I realised something was probably going wrong.

Was probably going to freecycle both. Awesome, thanks a lot

  • I am looking for a picture of a pursuit frame, it was either f. moser or colnago, with colnago master tt wheels (or ambrosio, now when I think of it) and, more significantly, semi-horizontal dropouts despite a track purpose.
I remember it was one of those very odd looking curvy pursuit bikes, and it is quite possible the rear wheel was bigger than 700c/27inch.
I vaguely remember the picture was of quite bad quality, and the shot was taken with a velodrome in background.
I think the frame was pink or violet, maybe red..
I know there was a discussion that the semi-horizontal dropouts allowed for a better tension or something along these lines, help?

  • I've found it, gave up and typed colnago pursuit in google image. was only on page 4th:)

I'll bet £50 that UW go bust or get bought (but most likely go bust) within 12 months.

  • Got a problem with my road bike, no idea how to fix it.
Basically the top part of chain gets slack when riding and coasting, that the chain hangs over the chainstays. Took cassette off the freehub and cleaned them. Looks like the problem is inside the freehub. No idea how to remove it. It's a Mavic Ksyrium Yksion K10.

  • There is a ring inside the hub that you can dismantle.

  • Search for FTS-L freehub service/maintenance/replacement, there are various online tutorials.

Several of them tell you how much the FTS-L sucks, and some even show how to make it better by replacing the bushing with a proper bearing.

  • How can I embed a Google drive spreadsheet into a PHPBB forum post?

  • The internet was invented so that you don't have to. The resource exists on a web server, make it accessible to whoever you want to show it to and post a link on the forum.

  • Ok so it looks like im going to florida over summer on a package holiday that includes a car,
its by a fair bit cheaper than doing it all on my own back as ive got a good deal however being under 25 the car hire place requires a young driver surcharge of $25 a day which ends up at £250 for the holiday which is a fair bit considering the car is 'included' in the cost of the holiday...

so does anyone know of a way round it

  • Don't have the car? Are you going with a real grown up? Can they have the car in their name?

  • a real grown up ;)?

No im going for 2 weeks with my gf and the car would make things way simpler with a car?

If theres no way round it we'll probably not take the car as we wouldnt spend anywhere near $350 in buses/taxis

  • Cool. Thanks Gonzo Muppet & mdcc_tester.
Looks like I need two allen keys to undo the hub, but I borrowed them and never got them back. FFFUUUUU...

  • Lent them.

No. This is really common and something you'll find in the UK as well.

Er, yes. But I want the frame embedded in a forum post, not as an external link.

You can get the HTML to publish it, but obviously PHPBB forums don't allow HTML code in the posts and running [code] or any other tags around it doesn't work.

For good reason - HTML embeds are generally meant for pages you host yourself, or your own blog. Allowing HTML to be inserted into BB posts by users is a vast security hole.

[code] tags are generally meant for displaying code in a post without the browser interpreting it as actual code to be rendered.
