If you use something like Dropbox that syncs files on your computer, you could save the JPEG to the same (publicly linkable) location with the same filename (i.e., overwriting it) and it would at least update the image without you having to update the forum post that links to it.

If you take that a stage further, you could (if you were tremendously clever) get a render engine to output the sheet as a .png and cache it at a static uri each time the sheet was edited. Text to image obviously isn't rocket science, since it's how captcha works.

If you had Photoshop, you might (possibly) be able to create a watched folder/droplet that automatically opened up a PDF that you export from Google Docs, rendered it, flattened it, trimmed the white space, exported it as a web-optimised JPEG/PNG and saved it in the appropriate Dropbox folder with the appropriate filename...

No need for Photoshop.
Make changes in Gdocs -> Save as PDF -> run Imagemagick (PDF to JPEG) -> dropbox or whatever. -

Can someone recommend me a small packing water proof-ish jacket? I'm after something as compact packing as possible, just an extra layer to have with me in case the
worstinevitable happens and it rains, as I usually ride in just a jersey...I'd rather not spend a fortune.
Also, black would be nice.

Does anyone have one of these, and can you advise how small it packs?

I have one, it is pretty thin so packs down quite small.
In heavy rain though you'll be damp within about 20 minutes

If it's text, use GIF. Lossless so long as you're not trying to anti-alias rain box text, in which case you'd deserve it.

Does it feel like a nice jacket? Im don't mind being damp, I'm usually sweating anyway, really just need an extra layer. does it rolls up smaller than a can of coke?

You can easily get it smaller than a can of Coke, and it fits in a jersey pocket no problem. It is a nice jacket, the cut leaves no mercy though. Mine is a Large and I can't wear much underneath it, I normally wear medium t-shirts etc. Also it's not that breathable, but a showerproof jacket is never going to be.

use GIF
Never do this. PNG is superior in every way

Soooo tempted to post Shay Laren GIF.
But yeah, PNG superior in every other way.

I nearly googled to see if animated PNGs existed, had a feeling they might. Slightly pointless if common browsers (chrome and ie9 at least) don't support them though.
-

I think there is resistance from proper geeks because moving images should have the video/foo mime type, and there are better options there. IE support is obviously nothing to do with that, just MS' complete inability to make a working browser.

Is anyone riding the Paris-Roubaix on anything that's not carbon?

ordered one of each will see which fits / feels best. the castelli fit does look very, er, none-TM-compatible...

Seems unlikely, apart from the obvious superiority of carbon and the marketing drive to have the sponsored athletes on the expensive kit, there is also UCI approval process to consider.

I think someone's doing it on a CX frame according to the commentary, but it's a carbon one.

Where is the PC thread?
(I want to ask a question about recommendations for smallish, quiet, PC cases)
Cheers.
Understood, thanks.
So anyway, how can I embed the widget?
(only joking)
I'm currently screen shotting the sheet in numbers and uploading as a JPG which I link to. This is fine, only I have to go through the procedure every time I update the sheet, it would be better for it just to publish updates automatically but I see this isn't really feasible.
