Limit is slightly over 5k now I think (ah ninja'd)
But rolls over in 2 weeks time! I was advised by an (avowedly poor) ex that anything less than 10k in Premium bonds isn't worth it. This was a while ago though

My beater frame was clearcoated but after the incident a lot of this has flaked away.
Should I just rattlecan it tonight to protect it as it's used in all weather.
Will take a pic now.

Actually, the cash ISA allowance is that per year? So, could I add another £5k to last year's 5k or is it only the stocks and shares bit that can grow?

Thanks for all the advice - I'll have a look through the options.

You can add to cash ISAs each year.

not sure if this is the right thread. (also posted it in the Android thread which is probably wronger)
I fubar'd my ipod last week and need a replacement.
Whats a good small Ubuntu friendly player? One where i dont have to deal with proprietory software like itunes? Or an equivalent to the ipod touch?
I distinctly remember having a conversation with you where I told you that ipods work fine with ubuntu. Y u no listen to me?

All this ISA chat… I just had a text message from Halifax (not my bank) saying that they’d received a transfer request “from my new ISA provider” – I haven’t applied for a new ISA in 11 months and haven’t touched my current one for about 3 months as I’m the world’s most sporadic saver. What the hell is going on?

Suppose a prober (professional) paint isn't feasible?

^^
A scam?I've just had to deal with my bank, having gone overdraw in October, and then being not overdrawn, they carried on charging me.
The woman I spoke to said "oh, did no-one inform you that there would be additional charges after you've cleared your overdraft?" WTF?
I'm not overdrawn, so why are you charging me?! All accounts being closed now, bunch of muppets :/

A scam?
That's what I thought. I just called the Halifax and they've confirmed I haven't tried to open an ISA with them, so I guess I'll just ignore the text.

Ahh cool. I always thought that only applied to the s&s bit.
Any better options than an ISA though?

If i remember correctly you didnt give me any definite answer about what i could use in the place of itunes.Or did you? I cant remember... Anyway - i have itunes and the idea that i have to use any other program to dump my songs onto an mp3 player. so this is a good excuse to give up the ipod malarky

Does anyone know of any bar end that are particularly long in length? I'm trying to increase the reach on my nodder folder bike and I can't change the handlebars for bullhorns, etc
Do TT brake levers fit in to the end of standard bar ends?
Yes, I do appreciate that this project is a horrible monstrocity.

I'm interested in playing around with some HTML/ web pages again. What's the best free hosting package to use?
Nothing serious, just for my own curiosity more than anything.

Depends what you want, generally risk vs. reward innit. Cash ISAs are safe and away from the prying hands of "the man", so banks generally give you a lower rate. Other investment can get you higher rates, but are more risky.

Any better options than an ISA though?
low risk: paying off chunks of capital on your mortgage
medium risk: build up a fine wine portfolio
high risk: waltz through schipol with a rattling suitcase full of jacknjills

Not now.
Not willing to fork out £50 on a damaged frame that'll need brazing anyway. -

I've got a track/path frame that I've had for a while and I want to now sell on. I'm reasonably sure it's an imperial petrel from the 30's/40's (mainly because of the serial stamp on the lower ht lug). It's got track ends, is drilled for brakes, has mudguard eyelets and isn't especially light. It currently has a rather garish rattlecan paint job in ironman hotrod red and gold! My question- how much is this sorting of thing worth, if anything?! Cheers.
Just go to Vegas.
