  • Can American Classic 420s be trued easily? I know some low spoke count wheels are a pain to put right... (I would be employing the LBS to do so)

  • no

  • You can true them, but you'll never get rid of the ugly.

  • Google maps question – when you drag the yellow dude to do Streetview are you meant to be able to control which direction you're facing when you drop or is it just kind of random?

  • To an extent, the direction you drag it should mean that you face that way. When you stay in one place for half a second the green dot below the small man turns opaque and has a small arrow on the one side. It's not that good at doing it though

  • does it really matter? surely you can just turn around once you're in streetview?

  • but that's so slow - it takes several back and forth mouse movements, and you load lots of view directions you aren't interested in.

  • I find if you pull him to the left of a road a little he'll face right, but it's kind of inaccurate.

  • Yeah it's just pretty shit! Doesn't matter too much, just felt like I was missing something.

  • I miss the 8-bit mode they made for google maps last april 1st - it made streetview load so fast that exploring was fun.

  • Will this tool work with sugino 75 cranks?
And will this tool work with 1/8" chains?

  • 1.) Yes it should do, but I've heard scare stories about cheaper crank bolt pullers and expensive cranks, so check the threading and put it on very carefully.
2.) Not very well, get one that's designed for 1 1/8th chains like the Park Tools CT-7, though it is more expensive

  • Ok thanks, I have some cheaper cranks to take off first so I'll use those as a trial run, and I'm pretty sure that the chain breaker is the same one as hubjubs EAI one which they say is 1/8" compatible, so I'll give it a go.

  • Does anyone know of any bar end that are particularly long in length? I'm trying to increase the reach on my nodder folder bike and I can't change the handlebars for bullhorns, etc

Do TT brake levers fit in to the end of standard bar ends?

Yes, I do appreciate that this project is a horrible monstrocity.

Answer had one of the best back in the day, they integrated an expander with an external clamp and still had one of the lightest bar ends of their time. SJSC seems to have one of the wider selections currently.

  • Just got a rear wheel yesterday, it has very little use (if any) and when spinning it while holding the axle it's slows considerably. Anything I can do or do they loosen after a bit?

  • does it feel grindy or tight?

if not then it is probably not an issue, how a wheel rolls when there is a load on it is rather different to how long it spins for

  • Loose ball or sealed bearing?

  • If its sealed bearing and had little to no use the seals are probably not worn in yet which is causing the drag ..

  • Not grindy, just tight. They are sealed.

    I'll just ride it then

  • Generally, unless you're paying top dollar, sealed bicycle bearings generally are industrial bearings originally engineered for high loads and high revs. These bearings use contacting seals, and are lubricated with a lube that's not drag free. In the 'correct' industrial application the seals are broken in fast at high machine revs after which they no longer cause drag. On a bike at low revs and load this takes a little longer ..

  • Can anyone find the Stewart Lee video where he explains that he has found out he was adopted and is actually Scotch and then goes on to talking about Braveheart being a paedophile?

I have been searching for ages now and having no luck :(

  • It's from 41st Best Standup or something if that helps - I've got the whole thing at home I can send over, but can't search youtube for the right bit due to being at work :(

  • I miss the 8-bit mode they made for google maps last april 1st - it made streetview load so fast that exploring was fun.

    Still fun can be had if you look hard;

  • ^^ Cheers.

It’s frustrating but it looks as though it’s been removed or else it’s been made private on youtube.
