Im looking for some sort of semi waterproof zip bag to roll clothes in, and i cant seem to word what i want right to find anything suitable
sort of like a suit cover thing, put a bunch of clothes flat in it, zip it up and roll, that i can then strap to a messenger bag, does such a thing exist?

Does it give waterproof covers for thermarests?
Something like that might work. -

yeah I've thought about that option if i cant find what i want but that you mean rolling clothes then squishing it into a bag

possibly my best option, not fully waterproof but still

Check Hatbeard's post on the bags thread.

What would be a good, cheap (sub-£150), single speed, disc-compatible 29er wheelset?

There isn't one.

Build up some SLX hubs to something or other?

What do you use on your Pompetamine?
-

These with 29'' rims and a single speed hub come to £160
Or these with a standard hub are £130
Though these are both 135mm spaced so i suspect won't fit in a Pompetamine?
EDIT: Pompetamines are 135mm spaced, so the above will work fine

Ain't pompetamines 135 spaced?

Kris Holm XC rims on Hope Pro2 hubs with DT Alpine IIIs, £265 without paying somebody else to build them

That's really helpful, cheers for that.
Their Switch front hubs have adaptors for different fork widths - does this mean it should be relatively easy to switch out the axle and use it as a rear with a bolt-on fixed cog?

The SS hub is described as being either bolt up or qr, if it's bolt up you shouldn't have any problem fixed. Might be worth dropping them an email to clarify whether the hub comes with the necessary bolts.
The regular hub can be used with a 10mm through axle with the correct rear hub adaptor. A bolt up through axle such as this should work fine fixed.

Ignore that, misunderstood you -

Design of the substitute axle should be trivial, but a front disc wheel dished correctly for the front brake gives a narrow (~41.5mm) chainline when you bolt a cog on it, whereas your SS freewheel hub will be at least 45mm, and can be pushed out to 49mm to match the chainline of a bolt on cog on the other side of a rear hub

If you want to run it fixed occasionally surely it would be easier to just take off the disc, bolt on a sprocket and flip your wheel round?
-
• #43319
It would be easier to take note of why On-One make two very similar frames. If you want to ride fixed, get a Pompino, if you want a freewheel and disc brake, get a Pompetamine.

I got a bargain Pompetamine and this is me exploring my options now. I think single speed will be fine anyway. While we're dealing with topics I'm ignorant on, what would be the BB-UN55 of the cable disc brake world, ie the cheapest you can rely on?

I have a pair of 29er wheels you can have for cheap Tommmmmmmmmmm.
And I got a pair of BB7 with rotors and all hardware for £50 delivered from a Hong Kong based seller on eBay.

That sounds great, I'll be in touch once I've got the frame!

How safe is bank transfer as a seller? I don't know the person (gumtree sellz)

Being paid is safe enough, paying there is no security.

Get the money first and you should be ok, depends how worried you are about identity theft, although they'll need more details than what you give them to nick anything.
Does Firefox v16 give the current tab on show priority to bandwidth? When I have stuff loading/streaming on the background tab it seems to slow down. With stuff like youtube or soundcloud it shows that it's loaded a fair amount ahead but still stop/starts as if it isn't loading fast enough.
