It wouldn't be any faster, but it would save having to swap seatposts and bars every week
-
• #41553
Why are you swapping them round?
-
• #41554
Inline seatpost and aerobar setup for tt on thursdays then layback seatpost, drops and hoods for club rides on Saturday and Tuesday. FWIW I think I've decided to sell the Raleigh frame, build up a specific TT bike and wait for the right sized road frame to come up before the majority of races in the summer. This way I get 3 bikes instead of 2 :D

Anyone got experience of buying orient express "north face" clothing from ebay?

Summer is a couple of months away...

Are Fat-bikes only for sand and snow? if not what are the benefits off road apart from looking awesome?

They roll brilliantly off road, let just says a normal gravel path felt like tarmac on those fat bike.
On normal MTB, you usually spend some time choosing your line carefully, whether with the fatbike, you no longer need to worry about this (much).

And they make you look bad-asser than normal MTBs.

Ah I see cheers, Plan is to buy or build a Mtb this year. I'm trying to decide between Fat-bike, 29er or a 26" hardtail.
-
• #41561
Get 29ers with a fattie front.
Best of both world.
Salsa Enabler fork + fat 26" front wheel.

• #41562
Do it!

Kind of tempted to do that for my 29er Inbred build...

Me too on my Diamondback Mojito.

I think it'd be awesome on my inbred but not sure about an SS half fatty, could be a lot of work.
-
• #41566
Mine would be SS if I did build it up with a fat front. Though to be fair my everyday bike is a 24kg SS!
-
• #41567
Or just sell it all and get an on-one fat bike.
-
• #41568
24kg?
Is it not 24lb? -

24kg :O
Pretty much a fatty already. -
• #41571
mmccarthy, not sure whether you want me to look at the bike or the IRA on the bonnet...
-
• #41572
Hah! The IRA on the bonnet was the reason for taking the pic in the first place. It's one of the few pics I have of that bike though.
-
• #41573
I didn't even see the bike the first time...
-
• #41574
Is that really 24kg... that's like the weight of a small elephant?
-
• #41575
That's like heavy dude.
How is that an upgrade on what you're racing on at the moment?
