  • I'm building a "leave at work for those days I don't ride to work but I'm spending the next few days at my girlfriend's and would like a bike to get to and work from her's" beater.

You'll need a good long frame to have room for the label

  • Strictly cosmetically speaking, can I get away with using this:

    with this:

...i.e. black seat post clamps with vanox saddle rails?

  • Yes

    Building a bike Lynch?

    About bloody time ;-)

  • No, it is clear--it is the latter. She/he now has another crankset on the bike and is selling the defective one.

Ok, so these cranks are quite possibly scrap.

I wonder if it is the axle, the crank arms, or both?

  • My girlfriend has a mountan bike with v-brakes that she'd like to put drops on... Is there such a thing as long pull STI, or will she have to get mini v's or travel agent?

The derailers are shimano deore (LX and DX) in case that makes any difference?

The tektro RL520 are long pull but brake only.

  • Right it's official. I'm looking for the current owner of this frameset, anyone know who owned it after Zed, pajamas and braker?

    cash waiting!!!

  • fingers crossed it hasn't been crashed/stolen/dented/melted down or anything horrendous.

I have those, very good but like you said, brake only.

  • does anyone have some 1" spacers? need quite a few

  • does anyone have some 1" spacers? need quite a few

    Scoble?

  • 46mm worth of Chris King 1" spacers in my parts bin (25+12+6+3) in the popular Mango colorway™

  • where are you located tester and how much? looking to pick some up tomorrow/saturday, dont want to wait for delivery is why i ask ;D

  • I have some plain crabon ones and maybe some plain black alu ones. Not loads but I'll check what I have.

  • £10, you could pick them up from me in W1 tomorrow afternoon. If you order from CRC now you'll probably get them Saturday, they have 15mmx1" at 61p each

  • ill just get some cheaper ones, cheers MDCC, regal where are you at?

  • New carbon forks means I can now clear my rims.

Unfortunately it also means brake chatter. I can't have a fork mounted canti hanger so that's out. What's next? Toe - in.

How should I rearrange the spacers best to get the most toe-in?

    Cheers.

  • Put a rubber band around the rear of the pad, clamp the lever, undo pad nut, make sure pad has adjusted, tighten pad nut making sure the pad stays in alignment with the rim.
You can also use a piece of cereal box cardboard double thickness in there.

  • ^ Works for me.

  • Ok. I'll give it a go. Becuae their MTB pads there's not much room to get to the back of the pads.

  • Ok, so these cranks are quite possibly scrap.

They don't say, just that whatever problem there was disappeared when they swapped out the cranks.

  • I have emailed them- but in English, which may not be optimal. We shall see.

  • Capital letters and extra spaces?

  • Best way to send a frame across the country?

If there's already a thread about it, like? Can't find one.
