  • Why would the hot water from my bath taps/shower be a lower temperature than the hot water coming from the kitchen sink/bathroom basin taps? (combi boiler)

They're further away, so the cold pipes have to be warmed for further.

I'd guess it's only a short distance from your boiler to your sink, a bit further to the bathroom taps, and a bit futher again to your bath/shower.

At each stage, the water heats the pipes as it passes through them. The more pipe it passes through, the more heat it loses. as the pipe heats up to the water temprature, it will lose some heat to the air around it, so the further the hot water travels, the cooler it gets, as it heats other things. If you leave the water running for a bit, it will lose less heat, as the pipe temprature gets closer to that of the hot water.

  • There was en error during my order at Evans Cycle website.

The transaction was blocked at the "Confirm and Pay" stage (after giving my Visa credentials) with the message "Payment in progress, please be patient...". I never attained the "Order placed" stage, but using reload on my browser I now have two duplicate orders liste in my account's orders.

Did someone had this problem already? I sent them a message, how reliable are they?

Strange because the bath/shower is actually the closest to the boiler out of them all. You're most likely correct though and the bath is just fitted nearer the end of the set of piping. We have a plumber coming around in a couple of days to fix something else so i'll see what he thinks.

  • Pixies stealing your heat.

    Bastards.

  • It could be the shower pipes are touching something conductive... Like the cold water pipe?

  • Blender/mixer taps (usually set to 45degrees) to prevent you from scolding yourself and/or a child or possibly cold pipe above the hot, cooling the hot and warming the cold

  • When I buy taps I'm not interested in their views on how I discipline my own children, and it's frankly offensive of them to intervene.

  • I mean what's next, the sofa cushions throwing out all the biscuits because they think I eat too much junk food?

You should've gotten an order confirmation from your e-mail straight away.

  • Thanks guys, I got them on the phone, looks like the order was not validated, ended up using Paypal, hopefully my account will only be charged once.

I'm an unapologetic omnivore, but this was excellent when I went here. Pretty reasonable as well, and only a mile from the station.

  • right weighing up some options here,

with my gitane french thread frame and forks i have the french thread velo orange BB, now if i was to buy some drilled track forks, thatd be JIS, if i bought the VO JIS headset, could i just install the crown race on those forks, and id then only need to switch between the top cap and the locknut if i wanted to swap forks? (i.e i could keep the cups in the frame?)

it isnt a change thatd be made often, just wondering
