  • Hi All,

My son is 15 and has recently started working weekends / school holidays. Apparently he has signed a contract (according to his mum), and has been working for the past 2 months. He gets paid at the end of the week (Saturday or Sunday depending on which days he works) but his wages are cash given to him in an envelope with no payslip. I am wondering if this is legal - ie. as he is only 15 and does not have to pay tax / national insurance should he get a payslip?

    Thanks all.

  • where can I get some dust caps for my dura ace hb 7600-r hub?

Not sure on the legality but he should be getting a receipt anyway. I used to get one for my newspaper round. If there ever was a dispute it was clearly itemised so the problem was easily solved.

  • Only issue is that the dumbbells dont go heavy enough.

It doesn't matter how heavy a dumbbell you hang off of the end of it, it won't get any bigger!

For future generations that may ask the question

Thegymgroup.com is brilliant! The gym group Waterloo to be specific.
It's £20 a month with well spaced equipment in a large area with almost everything one can want out of gym equipment. There aren't pools and there aren't saunas and there aren't tanning beds so there aren't a mass of people who just get in your way.
In fact, this has more variety they most virgins I've been too. Only issue is that the dumbbells dont go heavy enough.

The freeweights area in those gyms are a bit pants from what I have seen. About the same as puregym or virgin which are also pants.

Virgin at least has two power racks (even though the flooring is made of pillows making them almost unusable)

"The Gym Group" only have one rack, and poor quality bars too. I only had a tour but can imagine its like being in a chinese prison in there. So many curl bros, such little space.

  • Where's Laner?

  • I am planning a special night for my girlfriend and I'm looking for a decent keyboard player / singer who is able to do a varied selection of songs. I've got about £150 quid to spend on this for someone who can bring their own equipment.

Anyone know anyone or got any mates they can Reccomend?

  • Laner was on the coffee ride

  • He's gonna turn up with gash on his face again isnt he

BETTER is much better. It's £20 for a rolling monthly contract. Swimming pool included. Pilates and yoga for free as long as not in the evening.
You don't even need to face the square necks, doormen and bailiffs, if you don't want to use steroids and weights, as it's a completely different room to normal people.

I find virgins generally offer a poor workout. Criticising them for lack of variety is a bit unfair.

I'm sure for £150 you can have the whole of Fucktones with Riki Freddo.

I work what I can change and accept those things I can't

I'm neither a powerlift nor bodybuilder, and for £20, it offers me what virgin does at £80-£120. I would like heavier weights but BB gyms are rank. Catford prison gym had no water, weights you could get tetinus off and the flys in the stairway sealed the deal. Bethnal the gorillas that looked like the ate little children when the sun set.

the gym group has no contract. And I have no idea about classes.

I loved my virgin gym. Very spacious and very clean. The trick with them is to go to a gym with city types who need to go back to the banker belt so by 7pm or early morning it would be almost empty.

Tell that all those suicide bombers.

  • http://www.velodromeshop.net/index.php?p=product&id=547 - Would this crankset fit into Tange Seiki LN-7922 Bottom Bracket. ISO 68-110mm JIS?? I'm looking to build something up for the first time...

  • Get it from anywhere else.

  • ^This, and get a 107mm JIS BB (Shimano UN55, Token, Stronglight SBBA, Tange, whatever*) to go with it

*That's my order of preference, based on value for money. If you aren't that bothered by price, Stronglight SBBA, Token, Shimano, Tange for how nicely made they are.

  • It's cheaper here, and the shop won't fuck you:
    http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/CSSTTR2K/stronglight_track_2000_crankset

They also sell the matching bottom bracket, it's the 107mm one:
    http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/BBSTJP400/stronglight_jp_400_jis_bottom_bracket

  • JP400s are not that nice, and On-One are selling the one with plastic cups which is the worst of the lot. Shimano UN55 is £14.99 posted, or save £3 by buying the 73x107 and then you can fine tune the chainline by varying the thickness of shim you put under the fixed cup.

  • Whats that clip of the french dude shredding it up on a town bike called? googling doesn't seem to throw anything at me or am i just crap at the internetz?

  • The one that On-One are selling actually has aluminium cups in the 107mm version. But I'm sure you're right otherwise.
