Headset is a good place to start though. I cured shimmy on one of my bikes by just tightening the headset.
Also on threaded headsets using a needle bearing headset (like the old Stronglight A9) can cure the problem. -

hey!
i'm new here, i posted in the welcome section earlier today. i'm selling my car and switching to cycling as one of my modes of transport.
my brother showed me this http://www.mafiabike.com/manhattan/manhattan.html just wondering if anyone knew if it would be suitable for short commuting as well as tricks? -
• #32982
probably shit
needs a front brake for commuting
the frame is heavy gas pipe and there is little chance the components will withstand doing any tricks
-
• #32983
No brand parts will probably break soon, gas-pipe steel will weigh a tonne, and they say 'frame size & geometry has been optimised to suit riders between 5ft 8 & 6 ft 4', which is complete bullshit, so it won't fit. I would stay away - if you need a bike that cheap get a second hand one from classifieds on here, you'll get a much better bike for your money.

You are being good.
It'll be shit also not for road use.

This one is the same sort of bike, but better - chromoly not hi-tensile steel, parts are cheap and cheerful but a lot better, at least FSA cranks, Formula hubs, Weinmann rims etc are decent manufacturers.

It's also ugly, which you seem to like :D

No idea, but have had a out of round wheel tyre combo that caused issues

Streaming audio files from a pc over my home network to a box that plugs into my hifi by rca.
What's out there? I do not want sonos etc. This should be simple and cheap right?

ipod touch/i phone with itunes?
-
• #32996
^^^First thing. What size frame do you need?
Secondly. Are there any that are your size?
Third. Are they a good price?
Fourth. Do they look like what you want?
Five. If answers 2,3 and 4 are affirmative. Buy the frame/bike.People here will be perfectly happy to recommend parts etc, but if you want to build your own bike up (What most of the people here recommend) then a frame is obviously a good starting point.

God I sound patronising. Not intended at all. Apologies.

No ipods. I just want to connect what's on my pc to my hifi. Previously this was achieved via the audio out. Running wires across the house seems as anachronistic as riding bikes with only one gear.
Wait. Come back. -

Is there any way to delete music as youre listening to it on an ipod?
I keep coming across songs i will *NEVER *want to listen to again but with so many songs, its difficult to actually sit at home listening to them.
Is there other ways of cleaning up ones music library?
And what is the best alternative to iTunes? iTunes sucks balls IMHO.

you could try Google Music*
*If you have a good unlimited data connection on your mobile device, and a proxy to the states to set it up
Damn, I should check what page we are on!
