Does anyone know where I can find info on those Lowe fixiebikes? Fat tube lowprow things?

Look like a fat Mash

Good man. Thank you

Yes, but mostly in every size except 135pcd
Gephardt Classic rings have no dropped teeth, although the anti-drop pin on the outside is in the wrong place for C-Record road cranks.
Thanks again, MDCC. I'll have to take a look. Gephardt may do custom orders.
I agree the 135PCD is tricky, but these C-Record cranks are far too sexy to let go of.

Gephardt may do custom orders.
They do specific rings for Campag cranks with the hidden 5th bolt, but they have ramps and pins.

'lowprow' chuckles
Good new word, I reckon.
They're 'racing frames', though, Balki. It says so on the web-site. Somehow, none of them look drilled. Do you want to rock teh brakless?

Does anyone have any recommendations for fans for the home one for a sittingroom, the other for a bedroom?
Something that looks ok would be nice (especially for the sittingroom), but functionality is key.
Wants (in order):
- cheap (or inexpensive)
- well designed
- low electricity cost
- attractive
Cheers.

Do people still use dial up modems or are they consigned to the small electrical items bin now.
-
• #29763
Some people still use dial up. Out in some rural areas broadband or any of the equivalents simply hasn't been installed. Other people haven't bothered upgrading because they only use the interweb for email and low cost slow forums and don't see the attraction in porn, games, lolcats, people getting hurt on youtube or downloading films illegally.

http://www.connect4free.co.uk/Articles/dialup_usage_still_high_domestically.php
"statistics further shows there are still over 1.8 million families in the UK using dial-up Internet connections in their homes."
But I would still bin it.

Technically you're required to WEEE on it.
-
• #29766
By bin, I obviously mean set fire to it using petrol and firelighters. That's the best way to dispose of those noxious chemicals trapped in the electronics.

Another question.
I've had a cx/tourer project for about a year now. My girlfriend probably wants a bike... so I'm thinking about "lending" it to her.
The problem is she will need risers or similar rather than drops. I would like to use these Tekro FL750 brakes - which are normal mtb diameter.
I would also like to use DA bar end shifters.
The obvious choice seems to be paul thumbies, but I need the BB thread chased, and to build the wheels, and £50 just to be able to use some shifters I already have seems to be taking the piss.
The other option I thought was to find some mostashe bars which are both 22.2/ standard mtb and can take bar ends.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Cheers.

what gears are on it?
if they're shimano indexing then i'd just get some mtb risers and some standard trigger shifters, depending on the number of speeds of course. -

UOW, the Cavendish Campus - can I take a folding bike with me inside?
The thing is, it's a 20" with a stuck handlepost(not a neat fold like Brompton), but at least it fits in a big bag. I've got a tutorial there, but will not have enough time for public transport.

^^ good point.
It's 9-speed XT. So that would be a sensible idea.
I'm just trying keep costs down and use parts I have, and where I do purchase parts at least make sure they're ones I'll use later.
The only bar I've found that can do 22.2mm and bar ends is the Nitto Albatross B352AA.... which at ~£70 seems like a fucking fortune for what it is.
EDIT:
Is there any chance these would work? Or is 2x9 different from 3x9?
Shimano 9-speed doubles (I think?) thumb shifters with cable hanging off because I don’t know how to take out lol. £5

Please do report back about how the Lez cage works.
Haven't ridden it yet, but initial impressions are that it's a bit too grippy in the 'between the tribars' position; more so than the old Blackburn one I had on there. I think I'll try out a Zefal Aluplast 123 off my road bike. I can always flog the Lezyne to Tops :-)

MTB shifters won't work properly with a road FD. Those shifter are most likely triple front, I don't think Shimano did a true 2x9 MTB group.

Isn't XTR available with a no-granny option for real athletes?
-
• #29775
XT and XTR are now available as double or triple crank sets
True, but you get used to having information. It's fun, I think.
Also my coach specifies training sessions by power- i.e. 2 x 20 minutes at 270 watts.
