  • I need a cat. Any advice?

  • I think I can answer this one. What you need to do is get a cat.

  • Stackable cats are very in at the moment:

  • No need for buggery. Must catch rodents, though.

  • That's a female cat stacked on a male cat- they can catch rodents like that, it's thrilling to watch.

  • pics.

  • As if hippy needed help upping his post rate. Neg rep for all of you. Fail.

    :D

  • Do ginger cats smell funny? You know, like ginger women

  • Whats the best way to remove badges that look like theyve either been soldered on or screwed on and had the heads of the screws cut off?
Reason for asking is i need to remove a badge for a respray.

  • It rivetted?
If its soldered a little tap with a mallet and chisel should loosen it. A little tap mind...

  • This is a riveted badge right?

If thats riveted then mine is definitely either soldered or has had the screw heads removed.

  • yep that one is riveted. tap it with a hammer? solder is quite brittle i think, it just snaps off.

  • Is it necessary to grease headset cups where they sit in the frame?

  • Nope, no grease required.

  • i do, but only because once i bought a frame with the cups in, took them out and they were greased...don't know why though. maybe to stop them seizing in permanantly?

definalty pop them in the freezer first, makes fitting them a doddle.

  • Is the latest version of shimano 105 the 5700 series and do all the shimano groups go up in the same way - ie latest Ultegra = 6700 and the next is 6800.

    Cheers.

  • Big tubes can be used for small tyres, but small tubes for large tyres can over inflate and explode, making the cat shit itself*.

    • Possibly speaking from experience here.

did this happen? (the cat shitting)

    just lol'd a lot.

The last time I saw that done, someone did a rubbing of the badge on paper with crayon and then glued the rubbing to duct tape, cut out an exact outline and popped the tape over the badge before respraying, peeled the tape and washed with spirit, job done.

I'll conceed that it was a badge on a trophy cup but it worked damn well. Might save playing with rivets and solder.

Yes, yes and yes. They aren't always in synch, e.g. DuraAce is now 7900, but generally major revisions are +100 while minor upgrades to just some components are +1 (with +3 reserved for triple equipment in recent groupsets), and significant options in the same update cycle such as compacts get the +50 treatment, although they also did that with the mid-cycle major revision to DuraAce hubs and wheels. Not sure how they're going to deal with the next generation DuraAce now that they've got to 7900, as that should be next in line for a major version increment.

  • a - what's the name of that mad african multi stringed instrument made from an oil drum.
b - what's the name of the highly revered practioner of said instrument (i heard about years ago in an old andy kershaw documentary)?

pretty please will? I've edited out the offensive word.

  • I am only going to tell you when you edit out the word 'famousest'.

  • Ha

  • there you go.

  • Why is it that the majority of road frames sold nowadays have a positive slopping top tube (as opposed to horizontal 90degrees)?
Aesthetically i'm not a fan but they must have an advantage.

  • c'mon will. are you just teasing me?
