I seem to have developed some kind of weird allergic reaction just now. Have no idea whats bought it on. Started with arms and hands, then seemed to spread down my legs. Nose got stuffy, eyes watery and oh my days, the palms of my hands are so itchy. Have taken a antihistamine which has kind of helped. This is weird and freaking me out some. BTW I'm sober/straight.

I had french onion soup and whitebait for dinner.
I used the same shower gel/moisturiser I always use.
I have never been with an animal.
I am still scratching like mad. -

I'd say: serves you right. Shouldn't have tried to take a week off the drinking. But, you should probably ask these guys instead: http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/

No detergents, no maths.
NHS direct didn't answer me either.
I didn't manage a week off the booze. My intention for the month of October was to drink only 1x a week. I'd drunk 2 x this week before even hitting the weekend. I failed miserably at avoiding booze.
Hippy is obviously drunk to be pimping out his mrs. -

Hippy is obviously drunk to be pimping out his mrs.Go to the docs, I had something like this, i scratched my legs till they beld in my sleep too. Doc said I'd eaten something/a combination of things unusual for me and I'd had an allegic reaction to it, just random combinations can do it. Gave me steroids and it got rid of them, tablets take a week or so to fix it, an injection can do it in a few hours.

Not really.

I wouldn't use them, increased chance of pinch flates etc. In an emergency yes, otherwise I'd be off to the shop for the correct size.

I have a device that I am trying to see if I can gain info from. It appears to have a Ethernet port to connect to. The manual says Ebus which I understand is short for Ethernet bus, the same thing correct? So I can just use a cross over cable. The company sell software to connect but all I want to do is pull some data from the device and log it.
How can I see what information this port will spout?
I was thinking do a port scan to ascertain which ports are open? but I don't even know the i.p address (nmap would that do it)?
Once I've done that what would be the next best step?
I've found no indication in the manual about and index.html file or if I can do some sort of telnet and browse the computer. I know nothing much about telnet and if this is a reasonable suggestion. Is it?Any suggestions of where to start trying to access this device? Good guides?

Certainly no expert here, but maybe can give you some ideas..
Look at the tcpdump command, you can see what sort of packets the device is sending when you connect it. The arp (apr -a) command might also be handy.
You can start a dhcp server to see if you can assign it an ip, which will give you some indiction of what is supposed to do.. alternatively, connect it to your router - you can then log into that and see if it is assigned an ip. If you can assign an ip to it, you can then do a portscan and hopefully telnet, though you might need a password!
but it might be a serial port, rj45 jack is not necessarily just for tcp/ip..

I was not aware of that! Hmm I will see what happens, need to grab a cross over cable as router is too far away physically, although I might have an old router somewhere.

Hippy, where is that thread, the one about cheap Pompino's- you know, that one?
I've never experienced that with itunes, although mine last week began erasing track titles immediately after they'd played in their entirety. It's stopped doing that now. Maybe just a glitch for you?
