Nice.
I like Phoenix. I don't know why but Lazarus makes me think of psoriasis.
Thanks.

Can anybody think of one word for a project that has something to do with something along the lines of:
- breathing life into the dead;
- rebirth; or
- consuming something else that's almost dead (or even just consuming something else)?
Cheers.
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Phoenix makes me think of the Phoenix Four - the bunch of self-deluded salesmen who bought MG-Rover from BMW and proceeded to drive it into the ground through spectacular mismanagement and misunderstanding of their product and the market for it, and helping themselves to most of the cash.
So tainted with failure you might as well call it Laker.
How about "Renaissance" instead?

Blonde question: what are the parts called that are found on all older bikes that had the dwntube shifters? You know, they fit either side and allow tension between the rear mech/front mech cables.
Cheers

before i buy it, can a biopace chainring be put in the same position on the cranks as a q ring for example so it has the same benefits?
-
• #22922
You can only rotate it in increments of 72°, and it's not the same shape as a Q-Ring. Whether that lets you align the major axis somewhere near where you imagine you'll be getting these illusory benefits I couldn't say, although if you think you can then you'll get the placebo effect which is all that's on offer from any non-circular chainring.

Ran biopace on my old bike before.
I can't says I notice the difference, much like the difference between 170mm and 175mm cranks, it's hard to feel the difference, except in your mind (and of course the toe overlap).
Some people claim to notice the difference, but as mdcc said, the placebo effect may have been a major contributing factor.
Used to think I was running 170mm, thought it was harder, turn out its actually 165mm, by then I no longer worried about crank length.

Anyone recommend a bike shop in York. Or is there anyone in York with a BMX freewheel remover so I can replace a freewheel with broken pawls.
Thank you

I definitely noticed going from my 175mm road cranks to the 165mm track cranks the other day- I road the 175's for ~600 miles constantly, then switched back to 165/fixed though.
phoenix - utter cliche
