Short of contacting Garmin customer support (who I hear are awful)
Bad experiences with Garmin seem to be isolated examples, lots of us have had good service.
Looking at QR for my new bike. Are they all the bloody same or is there something I should be looking for?
There are two basic types; enclosed cam and open cam. The enclosed cam ones, i.e. what you get with Shimano/Campag wheels and hubs, are much better functioning, but heavy. The open cam ones are cheap to set up manufacturing, so everybody and his dog has had a go. None of them work as well as OE Shimano ones, but some are worse than others. For a road bike, you put up with some slightly fiddly action every time you take a wheel off in exchange for up to 160g/pr weight saving. Don't even think about it for anything with disc brakes.

I have recently acquired an Acer Aspire One 521h off a colleague for £20. He thought it was completely knackered but there was only an issue with Windows. I have wiped it and installed Ubuntu 11.10. After a bit of initial bother trying to get wifi to work (known issue so there was a fix on a forum) it seems to be grand.
Plan is to upgrade the RAM to 2GB.
The only issue is the battery won't hold any charge. Stock, it's a 2200mAh affair.
Question is, if I buy this replacement battery will it be ok? It seems to have the same dimensions and voltage. I assume the increased capacity will only be beneficial??

Thanks tester.
I got some free with my old fixed gear set. Take it they won't fit though?

pleasantly surprised with positive advice - thanks all.

Why are Yanks obsessed by therapists??

Is something like this ok and reliable?

It's not so much that Americans are obsessed with the therapy, more that Brits are not so good at taking it up.

And WTF does that mean exactly? That we need to go?

Can I fit a 12-27 or even 12-28 cassette to my 2008 Campag Veloce set up without lengthening the chain? Currently 50/34, 11-25.
Quite possibly, but if you are buying a new cassette I would recommend getting a new chain at the same time anyway.

Pretty much anything will work on a road bike with vertical dropouts and rim brakes, so you might as well get whatever is on sale

I think the dropouts on the 2012 Yukon are like the old sliding road ones so you can run fixed aswell will they still be ok for that?

Stick with a proper enclosed cam QR at the back, especially with Ti dropouts as it's very hard so the locknuts don't dig into it.

Why aren't you getting one that actually mentions your model?

I think that many people on our fair island don't feel able to discuss their worries and concerns with a loved one. Having a confidential outlet is very, well, therapeutic.

More like this then?

No, that's still an external cam. Just use a standard Shimano one like this
http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/shimano-tiagra-fh-5600-complete-qr-skewer-163-mm-prod23522/
but obviously don't pay £20! -

The cam is housed inside the big blob on the end of the enclosed cam types.
As usual, Sheldon has it covered:
http://sheldonbrown.com/skewers.htmlI've got a pair of new Ultegra ones I could sell you, £10 posted.

Can anybody think of one word for a project that has something to do with something along the lines of:
- breathing life into the dead;
- rebirth; or
- consuming something else that's almost dead (or even just consuming something else)?
Cheers.
- breathing life into the dead;
and then deep fry you?
