But then if you're first man in a team sprint then longer cranks makes sense. Or if you're regularly riding up steep mountains. Shorter cranks are easier to spin, personally I would notice the difference between a 165 and a 175 crank if I swapped it.

Can someone please explain the old cleat fittings?
-
• #22929
but what about the holes at the front?
-

for the optional golf spikes (sold separately).
looks like they have the spd-sl cleat holes as well though. not the front 3 holes which look like ventilation but the ones to the left/right of the two long grooves and the one just behind the front three.

I'm guessing the three holes are for Look cleats...didn't think SPDSL is as old as those shoes...
-
• #22932

Has anyone ever created makeshift padded shorts, for that time when you're not in a place where cycling items are available but you're going on a chafe-worthy ride the next day?
Any suggestions about a last minuteish solution? Also, I've been using Bontrager Racelite and found them great so far.

5 pairs of pants...

What is this type of connector called? Looks a bit like a molex, has 6 pin holes for pins around 1.2mm wide.

What is that machine, if you don't mind me asking?

They'd all be fine. As would any of the generic far eastern hubs (formula, system ex etc etc) frankly.
(Says the guy who's about to sell a kidney to pay the balance on his custom Macks)

Does anyone on here know anything about ColdFusion?
Crank length does of course make a difference because of leverage, but not only are smaller cranks more aero (a lot of aero loss is from the drivetrain) more importantly they allow you to pedal through steeper corners as you can lean further with them, and as your feet create a smaller circle, they dont actually have to move quite as fast to enable you to travel at the same speed as bigger cranks would, so where leverage sounds faster at first, scientifically, smaller is faster.
