By the way, why not try "Skyrim" if you have so much spare time? Sumo plays it.
I don't.
My boss is going to the Bahamas's for a few weeks holiday and needs something to stop him getting bored.

Christ - even though I'm addicted to Skyrim I couldn't under any circumnstances see myself taking it on holiday with me. I've never been to the Bahamas (so it might be really crap for all I know) but I do wonder at someone who would go on their hols to somewhere so far flung, and I understand quite expensive, when they think they'll end up being bored.
Why not just stay at home? Or go to Scunthorpe (very reasonable rates this time of year)?

Get him to take a powerful laptop and any of the Total War series.

God your boss must be a really interesting person.

He is actually. Plus one of the most genuinely vivacious people I know.
It sounds nuts but there is a rational.
His wife is from there, so they'll be doing the family thing. He has more energy than a toddler on ice, and will struggle first thing in the morning when she's lying in... chilling on a beach sunbathing will make him explode.
If it were me (and I had his means) I'd run and swim in the morning, and then rent a yacht, speedboat, or jetski while my wife was on the beach. But each to his own. I guess he just wants to be able to spend time with his wife.

I think a lot of men I know are the same as that though. I just end up running most days and swimming a hell of a lot. Good books help too.

A lock nut just cracked in half whilst I was fitting a rear wheel.
Where is best for me to start looking for a replacement? Its an old wired powertap hub.
Photos attached.
I don't know what the axle size / threading is for a powertap hub but I've got replacement lock nuts from condor in the past (albeit for track hubs)

[strike] A friend of mine[/strike] I know people who go on holidays and then waste most of the time posting on a cycling forum.

Sorry, I don't normally do grammar/spelling police but I just had to fix that!

I know they drive on the left, but do they have their brakes the same way 'round as brits?
sorry I didn't get the earlier part. but most Italians and Frenchies also have their front brake on the right... and most Dutchies on the left, so I don't know what the choice is related to other than personal preference or just riding the bike the way it came set up

While putting some new cable in my aero levers (Shimano RX100) I found a small dark grey plastic part with tabs either side at the top of the inside of each lever which now rattle about when I ride. What are they?

where can i find a small battery pack which outputs through a mini usb port?
-
• #21969
yes but i can't seem to find out if it outputs power through the mini usb port or if the mini usb is just for inputting power....

Lolwut?Quite a poor design that. The fork will effectively lock out under braking. Surely a large company like that wouldn't miss such a basic design flaw?

The fork

where oh where can I find that silly spoof about Paul Hogan/Croc Dundee and his tax bill? It's set out like a BBC News story...

Is there not a thread on here dedicated to reviewing groupsets, or would that be a bit staid? I've searched to no avail.

The little button on the side of ultegra shifters.. what does it do?
-
• #21975
I don't know- but had always assumed it was something to do with the Flight Deck system which integrates shifters with the cycle computer
What were those pull-out mudguard things that were selling on here a while ago called? Where did they come from? Are they still available anywhere? Did they work? Did they only work with Concors?
