  • im not putting them on my bike, im actually doing a small composites assignment and a subject i have chosen is the evolution of bicycles, and how composite materials have become so popular (using track bicycles especially) and i would appreciate it if you could just give me the answer im looking for, as frankly, i dont give a shit about what you deem humour as you are a bunch of numb skulled idiots who decide if somebody isnt an expert in whatever little knowledge you may have, they are a 'fool'.
Care to answer my fucking question without being so judgemental?

    wac

  • Care to answer my fucking question without being so judgemental?

you are a bunch of numb skulled idiots

i dont think us numb skulls can answer sorry, mostly because we're such judgemental idiots.

    also kalm yo tits gurl

  • assos, that's all I'm saying.

    Hence.

    Clothing?

  • ^^thinking of the same thing as me i suspect

  • the biggest problem I can foresee would be the dropouts. If they are vertical you will need an eccentric hub. Chainline will be fine, the hub will still sit in the middle of the frame.

Loads of retro MTB's have horizontal dropouts, same as old road r=frames. The rear triangle (name escape me :/ ) spacing is wider apart on an MTB so unless you just use loads of spacers and a 650 track rear I can't see the chainline being the same. I'd never get the big chunky tyres I want with a track wheel.

ah just found surley fixed 135 hubs.. that'll do it.

  • if you just use a triple crankset with 2 of the chainrings removed and it's normal bottom bracket you should have a good chainline.

    S/He has a point.

  • sumo has already answered his/her question

    assos, that's all I'm saying.

  • malaysian do you know if argos (bike company) have a website or are still making frames? Yours is a beaut

  • Cheers.

Yeap http://www.argoscycles.com/ but they are not cheap.

  • I would love something with their aero forks in the future...

  • If I were you Malaysian, and last time I checked I wasn't, I'd buy the Bob and keep the Argos as well. It's Christmas.

  • Ha.... if you could see my hallway & shed you'd understand that's not really an option.

Also all my christmas presents to myself have been bought already, mainly things to make the cross bike more comfortable and winter friendly.

  • tom, which of the bikes will fit you better?

  • These seem expensive, but I have never had occaision to buy any before: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ritchey-headset-spacers-5mm-1-18-inch/

Anyone got a better option? I need 5 X 5mm 1 1/8th inch spacers to tinker with stem height.

  • can you not just use an assortment of other spacers until you get the height right and then buy the carbon spacers you need?

will possibly save you money in the long run

  • CRC will sell you all the spacers a scoble could ever need for less than a tenner.

  • DJ, both are much of a muchness size wise. I was just thinking the 853 would be more fun on the track as the Argos fish tails a bit. If the BJ had come up in the spring or I was getting to the track more regularly at the minute I would've gone for it, as it is now though not much point.

  • S/He has a point.

    +1

  • Buy the Bob Malaysian

  • never heard of bob malaysian

  • i also prefer the bob

but will you stick a spok on it?
