"borrowed" some of this from work, sorted it no problems.
Much better than caustic soda (from Robert Dyas) or whatever it was i'd tried before.I was there for half an hour today scrubbing away. Bleach did something, but not much. Bought some limescale remover today so I'll try that tomorrow.
I don't even know if I'm going to have this job for that long, but the toilet and the sink were disgusting. I threw 5 mugs in the bin and salvaged 5 after a hard session of scrubbing. The guy who used to be here is a great guy but he doesn't seem to understand that type of thing.

Which would you prefer
or
?
-
• #21654
the BJ, mainly because of the forks.
-
• #21655
the Argos is lovely too
-
• #21656
Objectively that Bob is lovely- but I just cannot get past the paintjob, do not want.
-
• #21657
yeah it's a little glitzy...
-
• #21658
Bj with the Argos paint job.
also i'll be gutted if you sell the argos because my new bike is on its way
-
• #21659
BJ should be a better frame to ride... oversized 853 tubings = stiff and responsive.
I'm attached to the Argos though...
-
• #21660
No matter how its painted the BJ is lush
-
• #21661
Just realized, I've spent all this time searching out parts to get the Argos right, including alternative bars/stem/tubs for riding track. BJ is tempting but no point changing now, would need quite a different build to get it right.

Those looking at the BJ, thread here http://www.lfgss.com/thread76541.html great bargain for £425.... I believe to have one of these built would of cost quite a bit over a grand.

so whats the deal with converting a mountain bike to fixed for beater usage? do people who've done it get a wheel built especially? what hub would you use? are there massive problems with chain line thanks to the wider rear?
-
• #21664
the biggest problem I can foresee would be the dropouts. If they are vertical you will need an eccentric hub. Chainline will be fine, the hub will still sit in the middle of the frame.
-
• #21665
What are those forks called with stems built in to them so you can use risers in the drop position?
-
• #21666
no
-
• #21667
they're not risers, they're pursuit bars.
-
• #21668
they're not risers, they're pursuit bars.
I am aware of this, i used the word risers thinking of lo-pros...
but seriously, all i wanna know is what they are called? -
• #21669
no one say, dont let the fool do it

once the spirit has been summoned thats it.
Game over.
Next question please. -
• #21673
How do RSP valve extenders work - they don't appear to have a standard sized valve?
-
• #21674
Im not putting them on my bike, im actually doing a small composites assignment and a subject i have chosen is the evolution of bicycles, and how composite materials have become so popular (using track bicycles especially) and i would appreciate it if you could just give me the answer im looking for, as frankly, i dont give a shit about what you deem humour as you are a bunch of numb skulled idiots who decide if somebody isnt an expert in whatever little knowledge you may have, they are a 'fool'.
Care to answer my fucking question without being so judgemental? -

I love watching flatland guys playing about.
