It's the best view in london now that piece of shit is up there
I know somebody who is working on the project.
They said the view is amazing but the box at the top stinks like fishermans knackersack due to the fact some workmen are sleeping up there inbetween shifts (there is huge pressure to deliver on time and they are paying overtime like you wouldn't believe).
No toilet facilities that high up...I'll leave the rest to your imagination.
So yes, the view is lovely but no...I wouldn't want to be there for long.

standard practice for crane drivers anyway, it's an awful long way down from the cab, top of the shard or not.

I guess you can't really go over the edge

Does he do any job at all or is he climbing up every day with a packed lunch to spy on the office ladies.

Does anyone have firsthand knowledge of the Assos roubaix tights? Or know if there's a difference between colors of pads?

front mechs
when they say braze ons does that literally mean the mech is brazed to the frame ?
newb question sorryI'm 60% sure that your Cannondale has got a braze on mech mount.
Maybe 70%

My second hand ones came with a brown pad.
Well...part brown. -

I had a Look frame made in 2005 which had a clamp on mech.
Shimano derailleurs have a band which has a similar mounting to the brazed on mount which means that you can use the exact same derailleur on a clamp and a brazed on mount.

My 2007 585 uses a clamp on FD

clamp on makes sense to me, if you damage it you can easily replace it.

Overtighten the clamp, bang goes the frame however.
My roadbike takes a band on, I would prefer braze.
On that note (sort of), if I got cranks that could take both a normal (53/39) pair of rings, and a compact (50/34) would I need to move the front mech up/down when changing, or would that be ok left where it is?

Not if your frame isn't steel or is oversized/weirdly shaped. Those usually have front mech hangers.

Uh, yup..... if you like crisp, reliable shifting, you need to maintain the gap between big ring and outer cage between 1-4mm (depending on religious persuasion, and hemisphere).

I suspected as much, I just didn't know how much difference there would be in the diameter of a 53 vs a 50, and if that was too small to make any difference

Doing this would be quite difficult really unless you have no feeling but lots of muscle. You're more likely to strip the bolt threads or round the head before damaging the frame

Really thin wall alloy? Kleins were notoriously vulnerable to this
