does anyone know why my freezer make a hellish roaring sound? Ok, maybe not quite but it's second hand, I let it sit for 24 hours before turning it on and yet it makes this whooping noise like there's a hurricane outside.

And yes, the point about the height thing, and why i used bernie and slavonica as an example, is that a shorter than average man (bernie) sought out a much taller than average partner (slavonica) and thst this is typical if you look at large sample sizes- we aim for the average, and if we are especially tall or short we seek a partner that is opposite.

Sounds like the fan is starting to go, mine done the same.

it was free which is nice and the sound can be drowned out by opening beer, so it's not the end of the world. It reminds me of Zool (Xul?) from Ghostbusters which is win anyway.

Means that the frame has a mount for the mech already brazed onto the frame. If you don't have one, you'll need a band on mech...

I'm a little bit ashamed to admit that I benefited from the explanation too. I've never owned/studied an older frame before.

they're not just on older frames. My BMC uses a braze on front mech, and I believe most carbon frames do too.

oh, no shame in it, I don't know much about bikes either, it just made me smile. not sure why really, maybe the thought of worrying about having to dig out a torch to change mechs.

mind you, I have to change an old-school BB soon and I dunno how... brakes and gears I can just about cope with.
