Should the stolen bikes thread be moved to the private part of the forum? I only ask because every time I look at it there is more guests than members on there, and there has been instances recently where it is possible that ne'er do wells have been tipped off about suspicions forum members have had regarding the location of their stolen bikes. It may be that I'm being paranoid, but I was justwondering what you guys thought.

Or, start from either end and finish both under the shifter?
Be free of the tyranny of finding the roll of electrical tape, which has hidden again.
the other day I spent an entire 30 minutes searching my house for electrical tape. Turns out it was next to my laptop which I was using just before.

Top tip: get rid of your PVC adhesive tape and start using silicone elastomer self amalgamating tape. Doesn't suffer from the adhesive creep which plagues PVC tape, because there is no adhesive.
-
• #14680
no, you're an adhesive creep.
-
• #14681
but really I have no idea what you're talking about. Leccy tape has never not worked.

Why don't they use porridge instead of cement?

Normal PVC electrician's tape works, but the tape gradually slides over itself under tension, exposing part of the adhesive, which then picks up fluff and dust and looks messy. Self-fusing tape doesn't do this, because it doesn't have a separate adhesive layer, it sticks to itself and forms a homogeneous band of material around your bar, like a rubber band rather than a plastic/glue Swiss roll.

how much are super record track pedals worth?
-
• #14687
£3-£300 depending on condition. Used ones in ready-to-ride condition seem to be going for £60-£100 on t'bay.

I use(d) PVC and gaffa tape on daily basis. And I mean daily - for example to mark channels on the mixing table, to colour code microphones and cables, gaffa to tape them down. It's all dandy for a couple of days and then it starts to deteriorate.
Sparks tape separates from the adhesive and dries shrinking (first it gets baggy and then crunchy) leaving sticky mess behind.
In some cases it can pull paint ofF things. -

It's that Three Little Pigs story as read by Christopher Walken.

since when did the term 'edit' become de rigueur for what used to be called a 'remix'?
-
• #14693
Since producers have been using their laptops.
-
• #14694
granted. but it's still the art of remixing isn't it?
-
• #14695
Hopefully more of an art than auto tuning the vocals.

how has Chris Moyles (sp?) got yet another tv show, when all the others have sucked and he is only funny (debatable) on radio?

Do skips have to be licensed or registered in some way? Say on... the 20th of August for example, if I wanted a list of as many skips as possible that were in streets across various boroughs of London. Is there somewhere I could visit/someone I could talk to that would tell me where they're going to be on that weekend?
Bingo!
