  • get a ebay one, you know you want too besides we're all dying to know what they're really like.

  • This has taken my fancy

Now, who has a groupset/wheels/carbon forks for sale? Im struggling to make sense of bikeradar. I dont like

  • have a look on ribble, also i think merlin do groupsets quite reasonably. Tester will know.

  • Ahh will do. What is the verdict on the frame? 75% off!

  • i don't believe anyone would pay a grand for that frame.

It's a ten year old design, which doesn't make it bad, but you could get something better for not much more.

More pertinently, they only have one in stock in a size 50, won't that be too small for you?

  • Yep just seen that frame size. thats struck off the list. back to the drawing board.
Looking at groupsets on ribble the cheapest one is sora and thats still £200

  • used ftw

  • for £200 you can have my almost knackered most definitely loved Ultegra when I get around to upgrading to Force...

  • How much does 6600 (triple) go for these days, anyway?

  • Merlin do very good deals on groupsets. Look for the last edition of the groupset instead of the newest. I went for 7800 instead of 7900 DA. Ended up paying £550 for something worth a lot more. Most other places like chainreaction were selling the exact same thing for £700/800

  • Ahh so much hassle! Someone source all the parts so I can build the full bike, must come in at around £500.

    lazy cunt

  • ribbles own basic road frame is 89 quid. slap some cheapo carbon forks on al la sumo and that'll be under £150

  • I just kind of want something a bit blingy but thats just me being fussy!

  • get something second hand then

  • save up cash, buy bling, job done.
(get hit by van, wait 18 months for insurance payout, go all out as alternative method)

  • Its a birthday present to myself and I want it now!!

Ask sumo he was whinging that he had nothing left to buy now that he's finished his new bike. Give him something to do before he sells it and starts a new one!

  • Ye Olde Glowe Sticke Shoppe does them, too.

Sorry Oli, I don't read German.

  • Rum & Raisen or White chocolate cookies?

  • I bought a new f&f and wheels then put a used groupset, whole thing cost me under £400.

Buy an used frame off eBay and put on new discounted groupset from Merlin Cycles (last week they had 10% off promo code on top of the discount). Wheels from Planet X or from here (Retro_Di_Corsa had lovely wheelsets).

  • you can get a new set of r500's for <£65

  • Good price ^^^^

Are there any geared wheels recommendation threads on here? I've got alex R450 at the moment for audax but wouldn't mind something lighter for the weekend spins.

Budget of around £130, could go higher though if they were a real bargain.

  • Sorry Oli, I don't read German.

It's all about speaking it. You want to pay particular attention to those deep guttural sounds that you form very far back in your throat.

  • Oops, sorry, got that mixed up with the sound of a didgeridoo for a moment.
