i really enjoyed that film, thought it was very underrated

Yes, even if they are using the same driver circuit (and they probably don't in your example), the impedance varies between speakers, and the volume knob just varies the output voltage. Power drain is inversely proportional to speaker impedance, so switching from 8Ω to 4Ω speakers will double power drain at a given output voltage, assuming the amplifier's internal impedance is negligible.
tru dat yo, but amplifiers don't have a negligible internal impedance (hence "impedance matching", where you match the impedance of your speakers to the impedance of your amp to maximise power transfer)
So some types of speaker drain a device more than others regarless of the volume set on the device ?
Think of it this way; there are two ways speakers/headphones dissipate energy: heat (electrical resistance in the wires) and kinetic energy (noise). Assuming the headphones/speakers have been designed fairly well, we can ignore heat. A speaker makes more noise (it can be heard from further away) so it is using more energy than headphones. But, headphones can sound louder because you're much closer to the source of the sound (and it's more directed). So Headphones are more energy efficient.
When I say headphones, I'm assuming small, in-ear things.
But without running some tests it's difficult to say. I'm no expert.
Ciao!

I watched it just the other day.

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs is an ace film. What the hell with the chickens?! crazy.

• #11956
I've seen it maybe 23 times altogether. On those days we don't watch "Up" or "Fantastic Mr. Fox".
Also quite good game for PS3 (if you're 12) -

Up is good. Not seen Fantastic Mr.Fox. The book is good

"Fantastic Mr. Fox" is a great watch. Good old school labour consuming animation for adult (and some kids).

At least it's not as culturally alien like "Ponyo" and such.

What parts do I need to change to have more gears on my 70's tourer currently fitted with a 5/6 speed freewheel, friction shifter and Raleigh rear derailleur?
a) new road free-hub wheel with cassette/cogs
b) new jockey wheels...?
c) new chain...?
d) ...?Suggestions please

why not have a new chainset? it's cheaper and with different ratios, you'll get more range (says 44-30t)
8 speed would likely mean it'll be wider than the 5/6 speeds (which use 120 spacing, 8 speed generally 130).
the hubs you may need to change as it could be a screw-on one, so simply adding more may not be an option.
the derallieur, depending on the size of the cassette could need changing, especially if it's something like 11-28 which required a long derailleur to compensate.

Anyone know where you can pick up Pasela Panaracers in London?

How many chilli anchovies can I safely eat per day? A jar contains 91 grams, or 51 grams dry. I am on my third jar for the day. They are in olive oil.

If it's for now, perhaps wait for that volcano ash to disperse first.
I've got flight booked for next week and now I'm worried it will become a lolcano saga like last year.
Ha yeah my girlfriend is stressing about this. Luckily we're going in August (not so great for flight prices, it seems).
Dude on the news says we should expect more of this for a good few years though. -

You can continue eating as many as you like, because you're already dead.

I would imagine that the only peril lies in the high salt content, that and you may be taking on so much oil that you should rightfully have a "warning! Fuel oil!" sign on your stomach.
How do you feel about the possibility of a fourth jar?

Cheers Ed. I don't mind paying the extra (only about £2 after accounting for P&P). Picking some up later...

You don't mention whether you have more than one chainring at the front. As Ed said, increasing the number of chainrings buys the biggest increase in range and number of gears. You'll have to tell us a lot more if you want better advice. (is it 5 or 6 gears? what's the dropout spacing? what is the chainset (cranks and chainring(s))? (how's it put together? how's it fixed to the axle?) does the frame have cable routes for a front derailieur mechanism? what are the tooth counts and what problems are you trying to overcome with the ratios they give you?)
