Or Bamboo socks, they're anti bacterial etc too and generally cheaper.
BAM have (had?) A sale on, 3 pairs of plain black bamboo socks for £6.

Or eat less meat and shit, and actually wash your feet every day 👍

You want something antifungal, really, to attack the source of the odour. Have you tried athletes foot powder?

I had luck with dismantling hte footwear (taking out inner soles, laces, etc) and placing in direct sunlight (in the garden) and letting the UV work its magic.
(this was a stinky old pair of slippers) -

If fungus is the problem. Much odour comes from bacteria living off sweat and dead skin.
-
• #113758
Nope - ‘bamboo’ socks are equivalent to rayon and can’t compete with wool for funk control.

Won't the wool get instantly devastated by moths, or is modern 'tactical wool' or whatever treated with something to prevent this?
-
• #113760
It might be the climate or geography but I’ve never had issues with moths and all my underwear and socks are wool.

What setting at the garage air hose should I use to seat a tubeless tire (29er MTB if that matters)?
-
• #113762
The lower of the two maxima, tyre pressure limit or rim pressure limit.

I'll start at 20PSI and work my way up until it seats or I exceed one of the above

If you intended to buy something expensive on LFGSS and collect it, how would you pay? Bank transfer from the phone when you get there?
-
• #113765
Ooh, are you buying that Sagan Bora bike … ? ! !
-
• #113766
hahaha! No where near that expensive. Just more than I would feel happy having in cash!
-
• #113767
Bank transfer in the moment with a reference saying ‘XYZ, collected’. Or PayPal if you don’t want your bank details shared.

I've been vegan for 10+ years, shower at least twice a day and still have stinky feet if I wear the wrong shoes.

If you have a moth infestation then you should deal with it.
If you don’t, then no!

Sadly effective can mean spendy but the i'd recommend Zederna innersoles, shoe banana's if you can't get your shoes out in the sun (plus alternate shoes daily), smartwool socks and this stuff from Boots has been useful

As above wool and leather can't be beat for breathability IME.
-
• #113771
Sounds familiar. I've been looking into vegan leather etc but so far nothing comes close to og leather for breathability.
-
• #113772
Yeah, my vegan DMs get fairly ripe!

Has anyone used any of the short reach Shimano shifters for hydraulic brakes? Do they make much of a difference to the standard shape? Do your hands have to be tiny for them to be comfortable? My hands are small and find using the standard mechanical hoods on my All City a bit tricky, even with the reach reduced a fair amount. They're not infant sized or anything though. Just thinking about possible future projects!

Foam sleeping mat with a silver aluminium coating on one side. Does the silver side go up or down?
-
• #113775
Down
Wear wool socks (minimum 70%) all year ‘round with either leather lined shoes or crocs (srsly, EVA stinks less than other plastics used in footwear).
And don’t wear shoes barefoot.
