  • Not very helpful, but that photo is so ominous yet hilarious for some reason.
Giving me strong Artie Ziff vibes.

  • When I've had similar mix ups it's been my door number in the wrong street. Local street though. Unless they've just got the address wrong in a hurry sending it out, that's happened to me before.

    The sideways handle though.

  • I have some really deep, crusty, large scabs on both knees. They were that bad that I was prescribed antibiotics. What is recommended for keeping them moisturised so that they don't keep cracking? Seen vaseline suggested, but that sounds a bit messy, and I don't want to invite any infection or dirt, as antibiotics course finished today.

  • Vaseline or sudocrem with plaster over?

  • Sudafed has antibacterial properties and absorbs like a skin cream. Vaseline works a trick but can be a bit messy if you apply too much. Moisturising often is the key.

  • What is recommended

Not asking on the internet, but seeing the nurse at your GP practice for wound care. They have a lot of experience and know the best products and practices.

  • Where's the fun in that though?

  • seeing the nurse at your GP practice for wound care in six months when they have a free slot

Agree though. NHS non emergency 111 might get better suggestions.

  • My 2p worth. Go and ask a pharmacist, not just the person behind the counter, ask to speak with the pharmacist, I find them incredibly helpful.

  • Sudafed is quite 'dry'. I wouldn't recommend it as a moisturising agent.

  • Nor me; Sudafed is a nasal decongestant.
Sudocrem might be what you're thinking of.

Go to a pharmacist or your GP.

  • Hello! I need to hire a van this Friday, there seems to be a few options, none of which I can make clear distinctions about. I need to be able to get hold of it easily from SE5; not worry about ULEZ; return it to somewhere in Kent (not decided where yet); cheap and easy to drive. I have a normal clean licence

  • seeing the nurse at your GP practice

    Good luck with this.

  • Savlon do a 'healing gel' which is intended to keep things hydrated. They sell it at pharmacies. Where you can also speak to a pharmacist.

  • Yeah, luck does come into it. My surgery provides excellent service at the practice nurse level, my parents' less than five miles away has border guards to prevent anybody from accessing any kind of service.

  • Haha… whoa. I live with Sudafed nasal decongestant to hand constantly, you’d think I’d have noticed this obvious error. Or maybe not because I live with Sudafed nasal decongestant to hand, constantly : /

  • I've always used Europcar for van hire, done a transit van and a big 3.5t Luton van for different house moves.

Probably not the cheapest but they've got locations everywhere and it's simple to do

  • Anyone also got a 160 width mattress, can only find that size in ilea and they have discontinued the model we had and were happy with

  • If you get stuck, I got a custom size bed and mattress from here:

    https://www.oddsizebeds.co.uk/

  • Thanks. Here are a few pics. Looks like it’s marked:

    Selmer
    Made in England
    40ff40
Then what looks like Cb (c flat but I can’t do the symbol)

  • Looks like “C3” to me; the size I assume.

Edit: There’s loads of Selmer mouthpiece info here

  • My knowledgeable friend says, paraphrased -

It's called a selmer ff which wasn't made by selmer at all, they've historically been quite 'nothing' mouthpieces. But recently the alto ones have become very sought after because Charlie Parker played one on him famous 'bird with strings' album.

I believe they were manufactured for a shop called Bill Lewington in London. A good condition alto could be worth between £300 - £500. Tenor ones still go for £150 or more

  • Thanks both.

  • Are there any effective 'odoureaters' or whatever?

Or should I get a ped egg?
