  • Nothing stupid - between 70 and 80 psi. Currently have a carbon post and it feels nice but the clamp design is rubbish and it slips....

  • Nothing stupid - between 70 and 80 psi

That could easily be stupid, depending on load and tyre section. The wider point is the important one - on a rigid-framed bicycle, the tyres are your suspension. Making other parts floppy (even if carbon posts did that, which is not a given) is a dumb way to work around poor tyre/pressure selection.

  • Am I imagining it when I find carbon posts more comfy then, or are you saying by default that means I need less tyre pressure?

  • Am I imagining it when I find carbon posts more comfy

Maybe. You'd have to measure stiffness to see whether a particular carbon post was actually more bendy than a particular metal one.

  • Thanks @freezing77.
    Have now ordered some.
    Cheers

  • The Campag ones should.

  • If that's a small hole for a nut at the back of them you want the shimano compatible ones.

  • I zoomed in and it's not, a pic of the shoes themselves side on would confirm, but yeah, probs campag looking at the brakes. Sack them off and get koolstop instead though.

  • There’s no retaining bolt or screw, which makes me wonder...

Maybe the pic just happens to be of the shimano pads?

  • The Canyon is lots more comfy then the Thompson; from 30 - 100 as well, as I only pump the 25 GP 4000 when they get really slow and the pump then says 30.

  • I think the pic is campag, but some of their's have little clippy things that fit that indent, shimano tend to have a more defined cut out, you want campag anyway.

  • I have an air compressor. It came with a tyre inflator but it is schraeder.

Should I just get a screw on adapter that goes on to a presta valve? Or can I just replace the Schaefer pump head with something like a joe blow smart head to save me time and hassle. Will the joe blow fit onto the hose of the tyre inflator if I cut it off?

  • Simple solution is simple - Adapter.

  • I really like the joe blow replacement I got when I ran out of patience with the presta unit that came with my 25 year old Silca floor pump.

  • Did it come with all the gubbins to attach it to the hose?

To be fair the schraeder head on the compressor inflator is absolute bobbins and leaks badly when put on a schraeder valve.

  • It did, just had to pull the old one off the pump which was attached using a wire pinch clamp thingy.

  • After a set of alloy wheels for the winter months and have the opportunity to get a set of reasonably priced unused Zipp 30 course wheels. These are the rim brake clincher version but the seller is not sure that they are tubeless ready. Were all 30 course wheels suitable to run tubeless and if not is there any way to find out if these ones are?

  • Is having a retailer include another person's invoice with all their details (and presumably them or someone else getting mine) on an online order a GDPR issue?

  • Yes, it is a data breach.

  • I'd like to add a piece of acryilc to the back of my front door window for added security and secondary glazing.

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can get one cut to size in north-ish london?

  • personal data breach.

  • Yeah, don't know why I didn't think of that at the time. New sprocket and wipperman chain ordered...

  • Is the mere mention of BB86 enough to walk away from a frame I'm thinking of buying? Always had old school threaded BBs, know nothing of press fit stuff.
