Aha, thanks. So it can be ok because you can fit a $85 thing to stop it creaking? Sounds fishy, think I'll pass.

It'll probably be fine anyway but if it's not the wheelsmfg and similar BBs are good, and once you've got one you can just replace the bearings for a lot less. I wouldn't worry massively about it if the rest of the frame is what you want.

^ this. If it's a bargain and you want it, there are ways around the creaking pressfit BB issue, and you might never even have that problem. All other things being equal, however, I'd avoid pressfit BBs. Nothing like an achingly boutique T47 BB for your real BB afficionados.

Just paid a PCN for a congestion charge I forgot about. Asked for an emailed receipt and I've so far received 70 of them in the space of 3 minutes. Anyone at TFL who can switch the computer on and off again?

Where do people go for passport photos nowadays? Do train stations still have machines, or Boots, or a big supermarket?
It seems a bit awkward to google.
-
• #100457
https://www.timpson.co.uk/services/passport-photos either standalone stores or the concessions found in some supermarkets.

^ Had mine done there recently and was a good experience - they upload to the .gov site to check they'll 'pass' rather than print you out some iffy photos and show you the door. The first photos I had failed but they just walked me back and took some more which passed.
Also, to my knowledge, they're a solid employer with a good track record of looking after employees/colleagues, in particular ex offenders.

I rode for 3 Danish winters with a BB86 in a steel frame. You'll be fine if you upgrade from the stock Shimano BBs, I eventually went for a Token and it worked well for me.

Cheers, unfortunately none of the Timpsons's local to my flat or office offer it.

Family renewed five passports recently with no issues after using Snappy Snaps.
Price was ok. -

Amari Plastics - Depots in Park Royal or Basildon.
They will supply - I'm not sure whether or not they'll cut - although they might be able to recommend someone who will cut.
You should, perhaps, consider polycarbonate rather than acrylic.
It's just as clear, and is much tougher.
Ordinarily, it's used for riot shields and replacement panes in old-style telephone boxes.
Doesn't deteriorate when exposed to UV.
I've had some 5mm polycarb on the inside of my front door since 2003.
It doesn't look any different now, than it did the day it was fitted. -

For passport renewal I just did mine with a phone camera and submitted online

We just did daughter's passport photos with Snappy Snaps. The shop takes the photos confident that they will be accepted (as they're used to the rules), and uploads them to the government system whilst you're in the shop. You walk out of the shop with a code that you enter on the passport renewal website (and hard copies of the photos if you want, but they're not necessary any more) and the photo pops up.
(The whole the process works very smoothly assuming you don't have a tricky situation. Apply online, submit the code for the photos, pay online, no forms to send off, just enter the email address of someone who is able to confirm the identity (and give them a few other bits of info) and then that person does that stage online too. Once that's done all you have to do is send off the old/current passport, and the new one (and the old one) get sent back to you. They say it'll usually be done in 3 weeks but it took just 12 days from submitting the initial application online to receiving the new passport for my daughter.)

Ok, thanks.

Bit out of the way for me, but otherwise excellent fully formed answer. Thank you.

I should add that Amari do deliver.
In fact, come to think of it, I'm not sure that they have an actual sales counter where you can collect. I've only ever had their stuff delivered (I've been using them at various places of work for the best part of 20 years). -

I applied on my phone and used its camera to take the photos. It was pretty slick. If you need someone to verify its you it can be emailed to them through the form and they can sign electronically. Came with in a week.

hard copies of the photos if you want, but they're not necessary any more
Last time I got a new passport (in Germany) I used the photo booth in the citizen centre -
which is a) expensive and b) the photos look as if you had some terminal illness.You then go upstairs and wait an hour, when it's your turn you give the lady the postcard sized sheet with the four portraits on it, and she then die-cuts one of them out very carefully for your passport.
Five minutes later when all data are double checked etc. she hands me back the cut out photo and I realize they do actually take the shit hard copy photos, die cut the stamp-sized things, and then scan those in digitally.
Do realize now why all the IDs in Germany look so shit. -

Cheers for all the suggestions. It's not for a UK passport (I thought it was an appropriate time to embrace my Irish heritage and become an Irish citizen) so need actual pictures.
I found a photo booth in Sainsbury's in Camden. After buying something in there so I had the correct change I went through the rigmarole of taking the photos (it was one of those nicely dated systems where button presses take a few seconds to register so getting the correct option is a gamble) and attempted to pay. At that point I discovered it refused to take a new £5 note (obviously nothing on there to tell you this) and the people at the tills at Sainsbury's couldn't change it for coins so I got pissed off and left.

I renewed my Irish passport last month with a cameraphone photo submitted online, it was very straightforward.

It's an application for citizenship rather than the passport.

Trying to change php.ini on a wordpress install.
Currently max upload size reads in the dashboard as:
"Max Upload Size 128 B
The current value is insufficient to properly support the theme. Please adjust this value to 128 in order to meet the theme requirements."In the actual .ini file, it reads:
max_execution_time = 300
post_max_size = 256
max_input_vars = 5000
upload_max_filesize = 128If I add a 'M' after 128 it just says my current size is "256 B".
If I play its silly game and input 134217728 (i.e. 128mb in b) then it still only recognises as 256 B.
Halp?

Think I've solved it - changed value of post_max_size to 'M' to establish rule. Then changed 128 to 'M'

Has anyone had experience of getting Dr Martens resoled? I was looking at Timpsons, they're pretty pricey, do they do a good job?
No. It's not good, but it's not a deal breaker. Just fit one of these. Of course you can't use cranks with 30mm spindles in BB86 (not in any way sensibly anyway) but you knew that.
