mac mini is taking its sweet time.
the selected file highlight in finder now has curved edges. I hate it. Searching by file 'colour' is nice, as is tags. Tabbed finder is a bit meh. Back working so not played with anything else. -

Still thinking about a MBA, but at the same time not sure if just for studying whether a Chromebook will cut the mustard.

Just compared prices with crucial* and £80 for 8gb of ram isn't that bad, it's £60 at crucial. Or £160 for 16, compared to £120. It's the least difference in prices I've ever seen, Apple used to double the prices at least.
*checked prices for my mbp 13 from 2012, so might not be that accurate?

Mavericks completely fucked my Mac Mini yesterday...
Started up the install and it ran for about 3 mins before coming up with an error saying my disk was damaged and couldn't be repaired. Tried to restart in safe mode and the bar got about half way before the machine powered off.
Then I tried to restart into my recovery partition to get to disk utility. That told me that it couldn't repair the disk and that I should just reformat and move on!! I left it imaging the HDD onto an external disk over night and that wouldn't mount this morning.
I decided to take the plunge and format the main disk and do the install in the hope that I could get the image to mount when I had an OS.
Finally it installed and the disk looks like it mounts but I now have no apps / files etc and have to transfer everything over.
Pain. In. The. Ass.
