  • yeah saw that, hence asking

  • Is iTunes being a complete cunt for anyone else at the moment?

The last update wiped my iPod, which it will now not recognise so I can't replace the music on it. It also wiped most of the music on my iPhone, and refuses to allow any of it to be replaced, claiming that the phone is full, despite having about a quarter of the previous capacity.

This new update has wiped my iTunes totally, losing me hundreds of playlists and when I re-apply all the tracks I'll have days of work weeding through 30 000 tracks deselecting those I don't want to sync (if it ever talks to my Pod or phone again).

Want to kill someone right about now.

New iTunes update yesterday has killed my iPhone totally. All there is is a black screen with a picture of a lead pointing to iTunes.

Want to dig up Steve Jobs and kill him some more.

  • you could try the iphone mega-last-ditch-restore.

connect it to itunes and restart phone holding down the home button until it comes up and asks if you want to restore the phone back to factory settings.

  • Itunes stopped letting me add tracks today... Had to re-add the whole library. Fuck sake, have they forgotten the very basics whilst pondering what shade of gray the interface should be next year?

  • ^^Had to do the factory settings restore job. Phone's working again, but have lost all my playlists and iTunes library is a mess, most of the songs showing up 2, 3 or 4 times. Everything selected so I've got thousands to manually deselect.

Think this may be the end of Apple for me. Quality just gets lower all the time.

  • Are any iPhone 5 or OS 6+ users having issues with bluetooth? When using my bluetooth speakers the sound will cut out randomly. The music will still be playing, and it will still be connected but there simply is no sound?

There's a 'check for duplicates' function in iTunes, try that before you swap systems, I doubt anything is better (?)

  • as useful as the 'check for duplicates' function is, why does it insist on showing both copies of the file so you can't just select the lot and clear them? :/

  • Cause you've, for one reason or another, added the file twice. It only does what it's told, but gives you a handy way to sort it out.

If it were all automatic we'd be stuck with something MS would churn out

  • ^^this - don't know what's told it to add everything so many times, but it's a bit of a pita to have to go thru everything one at a time instead of clearing them all. Not that I've got a solution, mind, just a grumble about the problem.

Not sure anything else is currently better, but will be looking to other providers when I next come to move.

My current itunes password is "fuckyouitunes". Just saying.

Not so handy when you've accidentally duplicated 20 gig of music and have to go through a list selecting every other track to clear them, but whatever. I don't understand the second part of your statement.

  • early 2010 macbook pro 13" with 8GB ram and 128gb ssd in good condition, how much should I ask for it? £450?

The whole point of the 'check for duplicates' function in iTunes is so you don't have to go through them - here's how

If this were to be made an automatic function, like Microsoft have done with loads of things in Word etc, we'd be stuck with something even worse.

Shit, is that all? Sounds cheap for something with SSD, no idea about market value though

  • ^ should I ask more? I dont know the value, I had bought this 2 year 3 months ago for £999

  • What's the full spec? Worth checking http://www.mac2sell.net/

you could display the date added column, sort by date then highlight the list of duplicated tracks and right-click delete.

  • Can't believe that never occurred to me. Oops. Would have resolved my most recent tedious issue,

  • Just got an early Mac Pro 1.1 - I believe that mountain lion won't work with this (without some meddling anyway) - What's my best bet for getting it up as far as Lion.. Searching the apple site brings up only references to Mountain Lion as far as I can see.

  • Just stick with SL? I hear it was/is a better release anyway?

  • Pimped Apple Macbook Pro 13" for sale here

  • Having just missed out on that ^ (which would have been perfect nnnng!) would like to declare a general intention to purchase similar if anyone knows of something going?

  • Someone mentioned the the new MacBooks, MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs all have different charging cables (none are compatible with each other). Is this bollocks or have Apple completely lost it?
