  • Can anyone recommend a portable iPhone 4 charger?
preferably one that isn't a case, one that just plugs in the bottom.

You can remove the battery pack easily on this case. Not sure if it's really what you're looking for though. Power monkey or Pebble chargers are also good but maybe a bit oudated tech-wise these days.

  • Power monkey is reliable enough.

  • ^^
    looks perfect thanks

  • Get the 13" as on the smaller screen you'll end up scrolling a lot.

Find a student to get a discount or use a hacked Uni link.

When I'm in the office it'll be plugged into a big screen, the small size is a plus here.

  • Friend of mine is selling her late 2008 Air, 13", for £350 if you're interested. Not sure of the precise specs, but can get further info. Probably not what you're after given its size.

If anyone else is interested, just let me know.

  • ^ Potentially interested, depending on the specs.

  • Issue is I don't know if that is a good price or not- it's a five year old laptop, which if it were (say) a Dell would be basically worthless now, but of course it's not a Dell.

    So, I don't know.

  • Yeah, the price came from comparing on eBay. She says they're going for £350-£400 (I haven't checked) and is taking the lower end for ease of sale.

I'll find out the specs and update y'all.

  • So the MBA is the lesser of the two models that came out late 2008, part # MB543LL/A.
1.6 GHz Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, 120 GB (mechanical) HDD.

Really, it depends what you're wanting it for. I think it'd do fine for general office and home work, that sort of thing. I'm sure everyone on this thread could offer a opinion.

  • BAM!

  • Not sure if this is the right place but does anyone have a retail version, not a "bundle disk" of Snow Leopard 10.6 going free or cheap? Apple says they can ship me one for £20 or that I could just borrow one and that would be fine. I'm not 100% on how all this works, any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Also looking at the above post, does anyone have some RAM for sale for my 2009 Alu Macbook, I currently have 2gb installed by the looks of it.

  • I haz one you can borrow. PM me.

  • ^ same... i have Leopard / Snow Leopard disks.

Based South East / work nr Paddington.

  • so I lost my iPad mini yesterday so I used icloud's find my device app to erase it. But I found it back (Thanks to some nice people in this world). Now I can't get it to start, even though it does it turns off itself in a min or so, I am unable to connect it to my mac and restore iTunes. Anyone had similar problem?

  • have you tried a hard reset? hold the power button and the home button (you have to press one before the other but i can't remember which one is first).

  • yep

  • just found this, worth a try...

restore in itunes by plugging in and turning ipad on while holding the home button til prompted to restore device on the itunes screen. Once let go and press restore, the device will be restored to factory.

  • Is iTunes being a complete cunt for anyone else at the moment?

The last update wiped my iPod, which it will now not recognise so I can't replace the music on it. It also wiped most of the music on my iPhone, and refuses to allow any of it to be replaced, claiming that the phone is full, despite having about a quarter of the previous capacity.

This new update has wiped my iTunes totally, losing me hundreds of playlists and when I re-apply all the tracks I'll have days of work weeding through 30 000 tracks deselecting those I don't want to sync (if it ever talks to my Pod or phone again).

Want to kill someone right about now.

  • Does any one have a retail osx 10.5 disc set that i can borrow want to sell an old I Mac but want to give it a clean install before i sell it , i have lost my discs

  • Anyone used non apple chargers? Like this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160837993139&clk_rvr_id=453649157042

Would love to have one constantly at my desk so i don't have to plug mine in, but I can't justify £50 for an apple one

  • I got one from ebay and got a constant feedback buzz when I plugged in an audio cable. Picked up a non branded one from TCR for cheap and it's still going strong.

(Got some snow leopard disks sorted now, thanks for the offers. Still need the RAM though.)
