If the mini allows it the HDMI will carry both the sound and picture.
If not DVI will be fine - and most TV's carry DVI ports now.
Edit - I agree with Hatbeard although the top one doesn't have a DVI connection. You'll need a mini port to HDMI.

^none of those tv's have dvi ports so miniport to hdmi if supported is best bet

Quick question; the size of font on this here forum, when viewed on my iPad, has shrunk to about half the size it was yesterday. Making things fiddly. Is there something I can do to make it biggerer again? All other sites are unaffected, so it's something to do with the way Lfgss is being displayed.

Ultimate first world problem.
No help. Sorry.

Font size selector is in the top right of any forum page, just below the menu bar (the different sized A's)
Just tap the one you want to change the font size up or down

Perfect, thanks!

This could either be especially useful, with the advent of Apple's turn-by-turn mapping in iOS6, or just a bit shit and heavy - anyone got any experience?

Wouldn't turn by turn navigation work with just audio? So you can stuff the iPhone somewhere safe and then have a small speaker / headphones somewhere?
Wouldn't want to crash with an iPhone on my handlebars + I doubt that the batteries will last more than a few hours if the screen is to stay on + data + gps?

Yeah, I think you could happily have it in your rear jersey pocket with headphones, but for some reason I fancy looking at the screen.
I agree with you on the safety point, but if it secures well I think it's actually pretty well placed unless the bike ends up upside down...

anyone got a magsafe 60w?
thought I'd ask here first.
and does anyone know if the newer plug fitting, that comes in from the side, as opposed to straight pull, fits the older model. A1184 -

cheap here, but wonder if it's genuine?

Nope, it's not. From the reviews:
'What in fact I received appears to be an off white generic knock-off.'

not good at all

Both MagSafe ends fit the same. I have had cheap (£25ish) unbranded chargers from amazon in the past and they work fine.

Can you unlock an orange iPhone to use on O2 and what are the consequences, with upgrades etc?

That is possibly the most expensive bike mount for an iPhone I've seen.
Search a bit more and you'll find them for less than a tenner... Frankly I thought that was still a bit expensive and made my own from a 99p eBay case, a reflector and a chainring bolt. Worked fine for London to Brighton and lighter than most other options.
If you are worried about breaking your phone whilst crashing, pockets are no better. My first iPhone died because I fell on it after an icey skid. In fact I would have thought attached to the stem is safer?

longshot I know, but does anyone have an ipad or pc tablet, that I can borrow for a week or so, trying to convince my mother not to buy a laptop, for her limited computer/internet usage, but she's bound and determined to get one.
Hoping the magic of using a tablet changes her mind.As a caveat, won't be leaving my house and I'll be around 90% of the time anyway to make sure it doesn't get abused in anyway..
many thanks

Nexus 7? Brought my dad one for his 50th and he loves it. Before hand he was adamant on a laptop.

I use my iPad too much to lend it out for a week - I can't believe how much I use it to be honest, its always on and is handy to carry around and much more user friendly for internet use (IMO) in most cases.
Can't you just drag her down to the Apple shop for a play?
My 74 year old father is looking at getting an iPad after he played with mine this weekend, he liked using the touch screen to play games and the fact that he didn't need to trot upstairs to his desk bound PC any time he wanted to access the net.
Good luck!

brighton guzzi, I'm planning on taking her down to the apple store, but her lack of computing experience, means it'd be better if she could have a play for a while, in the comfort of her own home, so she can take her time and not feel like I'm pressuring her into making my decision, rather than hers

Somewhere like Comet or PC world seems to offer a less hectic browsing experience in my opinion, but I get what you're saying, 10 minutes having a fiddle in a shop isn't the same as doing things at home at your own pace.
Good luck!
of those 3 I prefer the first because it has more inputs and can optionally be hooked up to wifi to stream from a pc (using plex/tversity or similiar) and the rest seems to be same spec as the last one but £30 cheaper.
only difference is it has a wider bezel around the screen.
