  • I know

    *sulks

  • iwork any good? if so what at?

never used it, but it doesn't have to be that good to beat office that's for sure

  • yeah thats what i figure... fuck powerpoint.

  • 204 Pin SO DIMM DDR3 PC3-10600 1333MHz 2x2GB (4GB)

this is from a new macbookpro, it will fit in a imac if it's DDR3 1333 compatible so basically a 2010 or 2011 model.
if you have a 2010 imac with 4gb you have 2 slots spare for this extra 4gb.
about £35 on t web £20 posted or possibly collected from farringdon, tooting or central.

check the specs of your machine and if you have 2 spare slots and 1333 not 1066 compatible

will not be available until end of the week when my 8gb turns up.

I've got a 2.66 ghz i5 imac... will it work on mine?

    if so, dibs :D

  • undibs (sorry again)

    won't work with mine.

  • I got a mac and think its the dogs bollocks...(good)

  • yeah thats what i figure... fuck powerpoint.

if you need a good presentation app, keynote is miles and miles better than powerpoint

now get back to the nursery

  • SlideRocket, haven't looked back.

  • Tedious: Any way to buy iDVD these days? Doesn't seem to be a part of iLife any more so can't get it from the app store, nor do I seem to be able to buy it on its own.

    Answers on a postcard.

  • Or just post them here.

  • Can I ask what may be a basic question... I've got an old Powermac G5, a little while ago strange things started happening with my keyboard.. essentially lots of its functionality wont work... for example....

CAPS LOCK - doesn't turn its self on
    and
I can't tab between things on websites...

Any ideas what it is and how i sort it? I imagine its really obvious...

  • The keys have stopped working and are in the same region of the keyboard so it's likely to be dirt/spill related, try cleaning/replacing your keyboard?

  • iWEB and iDVD are still a part of iLife11

    info here:

  • So if I download the entire thing from the app store I can get it? Or is that just the boxed edition. In the download version it didn't make it very obvious so I didn't want to risk 46 quid only to find it had iMovie, iPhoto and Garageband, 3 programmes I probably wouldn't use.

  • If you only want a DVD composer then I'm sure there's some other stuff out there that can do as good a job as iDVD. Granted I haven't used it for a fair few years, but I doubt much has changed. £46 will probably get you a lot too!

It looks like they don't make a song and dance about the programs because they haven't updated them.

  • Unfortunately it's specifically iDVD that I've been asked for. I personally use a mix between Encore and DVD Studio Pro. But there's a template in iDVD which an irksome colleague is obsessed with and wants. If there were a way of installing the template from iDVD to DVD SP then I'd be up for that but can't figure it out for the life of me - so thought it would be sensible enough to just buy iLife and have done with

  • But did you not get iLife with your Mac when you bought it?

iDVD hasn't changed in years, so any version of iLife should have you covered, no?

  • Second hand :)

  • Ok, trying to install XP via bootcamp on MacBook pro, I create a partition in OSX allowing 60 GB for windows and the remaining 190ish for the Osx partition.
When I restart with the windows disc in the blue screen it says there is only one partition, and that it's 130gb. What's that all about?

  • Ok, so Logic on the mac has just turned a bit shit. If you are running logic 9 on snow leopard at 32 bit which you pretty much have to as most plug-ins have not been upgraded to 64 bit, you are only allocated 4G of RAM, which means if you load a RAM heavy plug-in like Omnisphere, Trillion or Vienna, you constantly get 'you have no memory left' messages. Memory doesn't seem to refresh if you remove plug-ins, so I'm having to restart Logic all the time just to audition patches. Am I doing something wrong?

Is the 60gb partition formatted in fat32? If its still "mac os extended" windows won't recognise it.

  • Use Boot Camp Assistant. It will set it all up correctly

  • I've been using BCA, drive is formatted fat32. Still no joy despite being awake most of the night trying to figure it.

    It's this basically:

I've just cycled into work to pick up an XP sp3 disc to see if that'll help then I'll try again.

i feel your pain - sometimes i get that message even when running simple (sub 20 track) mixes, amd basic plugins... still beats pro tools though
