I remember seing the ipod in a shop when it launched. My thoughts were 'shit-this-is-awesome-why-dont-i-need-one'
i was still using a walkman at that point, and happy doing so after a quick try of 8cm cd's...

I was big in the minidisc game until about 2005 when I spent the last of my student loan to get my first nano - was the coolest thing at the time. I found it in a drawer the other day - still works, but laughable now that it's only 2gb and the size of a 10 pack of fags.

i bought the new nano a while ago, it's insanely small. everytime i use it i wonder how the fuck they can make a music player that small, with a touch screen. I give it about a month til I lose it

I'm trying to DL dropbox but every time I try it just sends me to a blank page with the following in the URL bar
http://cdn.dropbox.com/Dropbox%201.0.20.dmg
This happened when I tried to get VLCa while ago too.
I feel like a total retard not being able to download things but WTF is happening? Why isn't it working?
Using Chrome but I tried Safari and Firefox too to no avail.

Downloaded automatically for me just a second ago using Chrome (On Windows though so not much use for a .dmg file :)

That's what I'd expect it to do for me too, no idea why it isn't.
Something is clearly wrong but I have no idea what

I still have my 30 gig G3 ipod. The thing feels like a brick. 8 years and it still works. battery, not so good. I remember how user friendly the manual hard drive mode was. I guess it still is if you JB.

got to recondition my old ipod 80gb I think it is. Definitely new battery, probably new hard drive, keep it going for another couple of years...
update on my mac pro issue. Mac Pro is fine, monitor is fucked, probably, not sure whether its fixable, its one of the older ones, with the built in stand, and I've got to run it off a dvi to something converter, huge white brick. But if I can get it fixed I'd like to, and use it as a second monitor in a two monitor editing set up..

A question old as time itself: Mac OSX 1.4 anyone? Can't be bothered with Vuze.
I've must lost it somewhere and I want to reinstall the system on an old flat screen iMac, so it can run Flash properly (all the kids websites like Disney and Nick Jr. are Flash fucking websites!).

never heard of it. is it in the applications folder? start-up items?
speaking of anti-virus, does anyone use it? or consider it needed?

I can't find it in the applications folder to get to it I click on an icon one the bar at the top of the screen.

It's probably installed as a system wide plug-in... see if it's listed under your system preferences pane under "other". You can right click and remove from there (removes plug-in) and then remove it from your menu bar too (if you haven't already). Bit of a pain to remove all traces of it though unless you know what you're doing or find a manufacturers file location/directory list... doesn't matter with a Mac though (no registry or anything to interfere with), double check that it's not listed as a start-up item under Users too...

Its gone! dug it out of some folder eventually and it was on the system prefs too. My computer seems to run quickly again!

The overwhelming majority, if not all, of those who consider themselves professional users of Adobe software will be able to afford the software.
what i mean is having the £1000 available to yourself to buy it, I'm a professional users of the programs, lucky I'm in a full time job so worked paid for them but on my wage (witch isn't massive but not minimum) i wouldn't be able to afford to buy the program. i'd have to save for about a year to get it. thats all i was saying.
i think there are many people who are in that boat -

do you want a hard plastic shell? or a briefcase type thing?
Speck make hard shells for it in a variety of different colours (for both the 11 and 13 inch models).
Only available for the current generation of macbook airs though
