Yep, bloody bidding wars. People always end up spending more than they normally would have!

C'mon you lot. That was a proper old Witcomb. Very nice.

• #179
I aint denying that, but was stiLl a bucket...

I was tempted - could polish up OK. Went for a bit too much and the garage is a bit too cluttered though.

Sparky are these still around? What size wheels do these take also?
-
• #182
I think they're gone - Pissed took one and someone else the other.

I still have a BSA frame for sale. 22in ctt. 26tpi threaded so you'll have to keep the cottered cranks or use a threadless bb. Takes 27in wheels, but looks ok with 700c. £30:
i can include some straight bars, a stem and some crappy levers for an extra £10.

Nice - I used to run a 318 on my Dialled Holeshot. Found it a bit too stiff though, great for jumping, shite for general trail riding. Sold them and bought a pair of Pikes. Best damn suspension fork I've ever had.

Don't suppose anyone has got some old cotter pins? Found a Elswick Hopper Shopping Bike! Sorting that out at the minute!

Hi! Sorry to but in but cannot submit my own threads as yet.
Totally new to this stuff. Benjaminbunny put me onto the form as I mentioned to him that I was looking to try and build a fixed wheel bike from an old racing frame. Have been offered an old beater conversion for £50 but have just found this

sounds like a good deal to me. Any warnings? This would be my first fixed wheel bike.
What happened to all of those shady bike dudes around the golden triangle?

Make sure It's the correct size - sounds stupid but so many people get this wrong.
Best of luck with the new bike whatever one you end up with I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
-
• #193
its 54, which should be right for me. Thanks
-
• #194
I run a 54 frame... I am 5'9". This is pretty good. I may go slightly smaller on my next frame though..
-
• #195
Buy my Bowery so I can spend stupid money on a new toy.
-
• #196
Will probably buy something new so I can ruin it from start to finish
-
• #197
I take a 60cm, because my legs go ALL THE WAY UP.
-
• #198
48cm because my legs don't reach the ground. Except most of my riding is done on a size M (54 equivalent supposedly). Crossing fingers for a good OTP bargain when the 2011 models hit.

My frame sizes are odd.
The Audax bike is a 58 and my fixed gear is a 59.Just ordered a new stem for the Audax bike as I was getting bad back pain.

I'm 5' 11" and I run a 56cm, feels a little short, but I like the quick 'flickability' for the traffic dodging.
Although I am noticing my hands are starting to get pins and needles after about 20 minutes riding.
I can't believe that it went for that much, but hey. People buy some funny shit on eBay for big dollars...
