Thinking of buying new splinter cell or RDR.

New maps as in, newer then the stimulus package? (Bailout, Storm etc)

The best thing about the stimulus package was the return of Crash and Overgrown.

Has anyone else noticed they've taken out 3rd Person Cage match.

I bought the first one because I assumed that there wouldn't be any map packs out for a while, oh how wrong I was!

Same boat as Deus Ex 3 to my knowledge... Some big cock-ups at Eidos Montreal over the past year or two with designers coming and going has meant both the Thief and Deus Ex series seem to be on a seemingly endless hold... Unless it's all sorted and they're just biding their time as part of a brilliant marketing ploy.
Sadly I doubt it.

Saw this the other day - I was quite excited until I saw an interview about how it was made with the creative director who appeared to be a massive douche. Unfortunately not literally. If he was, he would have been filled with water, inserted into every orifice Eidos had to offer and squirted, thus cleaning out all the shit that has plagued their games recently.
Sadly he just spouted a load of nonsense about some obscure 18th century puritan books he'd read and how he wanted to get Icarus into the trailer somehow.

Until I see and am impressed by gameplay footage, I'm not holding my breath.

I got mine on the day of release and they were turning away a lot of disappointed people who hadn't pre-ordered - they were saying that Rock Star had shipped short. It seems odd that they didn't predict the demand.

Good luck though - it is fun (although I've only played it a little bit since I got it due to havign to do other things instead).

I suspect that shipping short is a marketing ploy to generate demand around the game. i'm sure w'll get a flood once a frenzy around the game has built up

Rockstar though always tend to do this with their games. I remember GTA4 being out of stock, same with San Andreas.

I shouldn't have a problem getting hold of a copy up here (Norwich) I hope. Also want to trade in a couple of games for it.

EDIT - Just bought my copy and traded in a couple of games, gamestation this week are given you an extra £10 off if you trade in 2 games so I only paid £25!

Think I will have a late night playing tonight, not sure if I'll be up to the ride in tomorrow morning!

I'm crackin on with Alan Wake right now. I remember when this game was announced years ago... this game is totally different to what i expected!

The references to Twin Peaks are amusing, but the story so far isn't quite as good. the Lamp Lady is pretty funny though.

from what I figure out looking on the web, you just get this iplayer "bigcreen" scenario going on. Can see hoe you stream live TV on that and more importantly how to stream BBC HD through the PS3 is it possible?

It's a bit of a deal braker as I've already got the xbox.

Got to say guys Red Dead is absolutely amazing. I already love it played through some of the story line but am really getting into it now.

I think your question is: can you stream BBC HD on your PS3. I have a PS3 and i haven't seen the ability to stream and HD content. You can't watch live.

However, we have a 42" screen and the SD content looks really good over HDMI.

What about through the ol' web browser, so you should be able to access the standard iplayer?

I would buy a freeview or freesat HD box. The matches will also be shown on ITV HD. Both are available on freeview HD. Be cheaper too!

Yeah, that's essentially looking to be the way isn't it. tobehonest, I've got my sky plus, and even though it's not HD it'll be fine.

It seems a bit steep blowing £150 just for currently 2 HD channels on the freeview HD option. I've got freeview built into the TV anyways.

Are you still in contract for your Sky? If not, cancel your Sky and re-subscribe as a new customer on Sky+. You'll get the new generation HD box for free. Although you will need to subscribe to see nearly all HD channels, BBC, ITV & C4 HD are all available.
